Front Profile

At the front, the biggest change is the closed-off grille with pixel-like detailing, which distinctly identifies it as an electric SUV. The grille blends into the bumper, giving the front a cleaner, more seamless look. It also gets active air flaps, which open when cooling is required and stay shut otherwise to improve efficiency.

Side Profile

From the side, the Creta EV continues with the same upright stance, roof rails, and strong character lines. The new aero-style 17-inch alloy wheels stand out, and we also noticed the battery pack slightly visible underneath, which could have been better integrated.

Rear Profile

At the rear, changes are minimal. The updated bumper with pixel detailing is the main highlight, while the overall layout remains familiar. The wide stance and simple design make it look consistent with the rest of the car, even if there are no major visual upgrades.

The cabin of the Hyundai Creta EV is similar to the standard Creta, but Hyundai has made a few key changes to make it feel more suited to an EV. The new colour theme, redesigned centre console, and added storage improve usability. Material quality remains consistent with the regular Creta, with soft-touch elements and a solid fit across most touchpoints.

Cabin Layout and Quality

The dashboard layout remains unchanged, but the cabin now gets a navy-grey-silver theme with subtle EV highlights. The new steering wheel looks premium, and the floating centre console adds a cleaner feel. We found the redesigned climate panel looks neat, but takes some getting used to while driving.

Seating Comfort

The front seats are comfortable and supportive, with good cushioning for long drives. We found that the powered adjustments and memory function help in finding a suitable driving position, although the seat still feels slightly high even at its lowest setting.

Second Row

Rear seat comfort is one of the stronger areas of the Creta EV. There is ample knee room, headroom, and overall space for passengers. Despite the raised floor, the seat base is shaped to maintain under-thigh support, which we found works well. The backrest recline function also adds to comfort on longer drives.

Hyundai has taken a more flexible approach with the Creta EV by offering it in multiple variants. Buyers can choose between two battery packs and several trims. The lineup starts with the Executive variant and goes all the way up to the fully loaded Excellence LR trims.

The Creta EV comes with six airbags as standard, offering protection for the driver and all passengers. It also gets ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. During our evaluation, the car felt stable and predictable, especially at highway speeds, which adds to the sense of safety for everyday use.

Active Safety and Stability Systems

The Creta EV gets a 360-degree camera and a Level 2 ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. We found these systems well-tuned for Indian conditions, though braking can feel slightly sharp in traffic.

City Driving

In the city, the Creta EV feels easy to drive. We found the throttle response smooth and predictable, making traffic driving effortless. The suspension suppresses bumps effectively, minimising passenger movement. Regenerative braking, with multiple levels and auto mode, makes stop-and-go driving easier

On the highway, the Creta EV feels stable and planted, with the added battery weight improving high-speed stability. It cruises comfortably at triple-digit speeds without feeling unsettled. Acceleration is strong, and overtakes are quick and easy with the 169 bhp setup. Ride quality stays comfortable, though very rough roads can cause slight side-to-side movement.

Best for Long Drives: Smart (O) LR / Excellence LR (51.4 kWh)

For longer drives, the bigger battery makes more sense. With up to 510 km claimed range and over 360 km in real use, we found it better suited for highways. You also get more features, which help on longer journeys.

Best Feature-Rich Option: Excellence

The Excellence variant gets everything, including ventilated seats, memory function, 360° camera, and ADAS. We found these features add real convenience, especially for family use.

Best Value Overall: Smart (O)

The Smart (O) strikes a good balance. It offers key features and the option of a larger battery without going too high on price. For most buyers, this is the one to consider.
