Renault India has officially pulled the wraps off the all-new Renault Captur SUV, which is not set to compete with established players like the Jeep Compass and Hyundai Creta. The Renault Captur promises to bring a lot of freshness to the compact SUV space with it's premium styling and a host of smart and comfort features. But will that enough? We find out.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross has been around for a while now is all set to get its first comprehensive upgrade in the market. Ahead of its launch on September 28, the Indian automaker has released details of the S-Cross facelift revealing all the big changes that were expected on the model.

At the recent Frankfurt Auto show, Mercedes-Benz officially took the wraps off the EQ brand with their first ever EQ A concept. The Mercedes EQ brand will be a new sub-brand by the German automaker that will only make all-electric vehicles. While the EQ A concept was showcased at the motor show, Mercedes-Benz also confirmed that a new EQ SUV was in the making and due to be launched in 2019 and now we have more confirmation on the electric SUV that will take on the likes of the Tesla Model X. The Mercedes-Benz EQ SUV will be built in the German automaker's American production facility in Alabama where is currently makes the likes of the C-Class and range of SUVs including GLE and GLS.

Renault India introduced the new Captur crossover in India yesterday and the bookings have started from today across all Renault dealerships. With a tentative launch during Diwali, the new Renault Captur is based on Duster's platform and comes with a host of premium features.

Along with taking the wraps off the all-new Volvo XC40, the company also introduced a first of its kind subscription service for its cars. The idea is to allow Volvo customers to subscribe to cars like how you subscribe to magazines or other services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and so on and so forth. This means that once the subscription period is over, customers can either buy the car or switch to another car.

Making its way to festive season, the Renault Captur SUV has been unveiled for India with sales to commence in October 2017. The crossover is on sale in 75 countries already and makes its way to the Indian market for the first time. The Captur new model will help establish the French automaker in the Rs. 10-20 lakh SUV segment against the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass.

The Volvo XC40, the most affordable compact SUV from Volvo ever, will be launched in India in the first half of 2018. At least, that is what the company says. Upon launch, the XC40 will be going up against the premium compact SUVs such as Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Chinese automakers have long been looking to enter India and now with the SAIC's Indian entry imminent, other manufacturers are looking to tap the market too. One of these automakers, Chery Cars has shown recent interest to launch their cars in India through a joint venture with Tata Motors. Why Tata? Well, Chery Automobiles already has a joint venture with the Tata Group, or in particular Jaguar Land Rover in China to sell JLR vehicles through a 50-50 partnership. The partnership, which was formed in 2012 helped Jaguar Land Rover to open their first assembly facility in China in October 2014 based out of Changshu.
