    The new GLA is the eighth model to join the line-up of the current compact car generation from Mercedes-Benz. It represents the entry level into the brand's successful family of SUV models. And there are quite a few changes that this new-gen model gets. The GLA features powerful overall proportions with short overhangs front and rear. The front section flows over the A-pillar into the compact greenhouse. The use of dynamic lines has reduced and the GLA now comes with coupe-like lines on the side windows. The radiator grille too features distinctive openings along with a single louvre and a central star. The side and rear views are characterised by the muscular shoulders of the vehicle. The doors reach over the sills, thereby on the one hand improving ease of access, while at the same time keeping the door frames free of dirt and improving impact protection in the event of a side collision. All-round protective cladding adds structure to the overall proportions and emphasises the vehicle's off-road character, as does the simulated underride guard at the front and rear.

The model, internally codenamed QYI, has been a promising one, given the stellar success of the Seltos for the brand. The sub 4-metre concept showcases a bold and larger tiger-nose grille, sharply styled headlamps with LED DRLs and projector lens, and the large diamond-cut alloy wheels.

    Audi has revealed the facelift of the Q7 and it sees a new design which is more in line with the Q family. The update to the Q7 is both visual and technological, to make the SUV a more feature rich offering. Big change comes to the front where the Q7 now gets a large octagon-shaped single frame grille with six upright slats providing the structure. This helps in adding a bit of aggression to the look of the SUV. The two-part side air inlets have a much more expressive line, just like the sill area that underscores the large SUV's ground clearance. The test car is heavily camouflaged and not an ounce of the sheet metal is exposed, not even the wheels. However, what helped us identify the car is the silhouette of it along with the test car (red) Noida license plate where all Honda-owned cars are registered.

    The 2020 Hyundai Tucson Facelift has been unveiled in India. The model was first showcased at the 2018 New York Auto Show and after almost two years, the SUV has finally arrived in India. There are a bunch of styling and cosmetic updates along with a long list of new features and BS6 compliant engines as well. The changes on the Tucson facelift are exhaustive. The new cascading trapezoidal grille is the centre-piece along with sharper headlamps, integrated L-shaped LED daytime running lights and a revised bumper with new fog lamp housing. The rear of the SUV gets styling updates which include new tail-light cluster, new reflectors on the tailgate which is now in-line with the number plate recess.

    The 2020 Volkswagen Passat facelift was recently spotted undergoing testing in India, sans camouflage. First showcased at the Detroit Auto Show early this year in January, the new 2020 Passat has been caught testing in India for the first time. Expected to be launched sometime in early 2020, the updated Volkswagen Passat comes with a redesigned face, with a new grille featuring thick chrome slats, flanked by a pair of new sharper-looking wraparound headlamps with LED lights and LED daytime running lamps. The 2020 Passat also comes with a new front bumper with a wide central airdam and large air intakes on either end. The 2020 VW Passat's other exterior updates include a set of 17-inch aluminium-alloy wheels, along with LED taillights, and a more prominent Passat badging that runs the width of the trunk lid.

  • Mahindra S204

    The S204 will be the Indianised version of the Ssangyong XLV and will get styling, feature and powertrain upgrades for the Indian market. Quite customarily, the test mule is heavily camouflaged but elements like the family grille, dummy headlamps and steel rims (typically seen on Mahindra test cars) give away that it's a Mahindra. Then a detailed look will help you notice design characters like the sculpting on the haunches, identical to what we have seen on the XUV300 and on the Ssangyong XLV, similar wing mirrors and the rear quarter glass. Moreover, the model looks bigger going by its silhouette. That said, just like the S204 gets a face of its own sporting the Mahindra family grille, a comparatively sleeker airdam and tight overhangs, even the rear has been revamped and the license plate area has been moved onto the tailgate. The tailgate itself is more sculpted and it also gets the shark fin antenna along with roof rails.

The new X6 also grows in size with the length growing by 26 mm to 4,935 mm and the width growing by 15 mm to 2,004 mm. The wheelbase too increases by 42 mm to 2,975 mm, although the height is now reduced by 6 mm at 1,696 mm.

    The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift finally breaks cover and it gets a bunch of updates which include a new face, new and electrified engine options and more features. The E-Class, now in its 10th generation, was first introduced in 2016 and gets a significant upgrade now to keep it ahead of the curve and fend off competition from the Audi A6 and the BMW 5-Series. Coming to the design updates first, the new E-Class gets a new front end, with a slightly revised grille, getting the three-pointed star and newly designed headlamps, which now look in line with other Mercedes-Benz cars. The bumpers at the front and rear are new and look better and the tail-lamps too get a new design. Similarly, the AMG version of the E-Class now looks more muscular and the E-Class All-Terrain gets a design update which brings it closer in terms of looks to other Mercedes-Benz SUVs.

    Renault K-ZE is essentially the production version of the Kwid EV, which was revealed at this year’s Auto Expo in February. Though the electric version is limited to the Chinese market, it is being evaluated for the other global markets like European.     The Citroen C5 Aircross is all set to hit the Indian markets soon and it’ll enter a very busy compact SUV segment. The company is all set to bring the car to India by 2020. The C5 Aircross will take on the likes of the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson and the upcoming Kia SP2i SUV. The SUV will be produced at the company's Hosur-based facility in Tamil Nadu with about 95 per cent of local content going in. The new Citroen C5 Aircross was unveiled last year globally. Measuring 4500 mm in length, the SUV boasts of a compact appearance with a wide grille up front and sleek looking split headlamp design complete with LED daytime running lights. The SUV also gets black lower body cladding for a rugged look. At the rear, the C5 Aircross gets flamboyant taillights with twin exhaust tips and a black bumper. While the company retails the T-Cross in this segment globally, India will get the Taigun instead as a rival to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Captur and the likes. While the 1.2-litre petrol unit is the same as the one that does duty on the GO hatchback and GO+ MPV, the 1.5-litre dCi diesel will be borrowed from the Nissan Micra.
