The TVS Apache RR 310 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X may not be natural rivals, but they certainly fall in the same price bracket. So this comparison is purely from a pricing point of view, even though the two bikes may have completely different characters.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird X is not an all-new model, but it's the newest addition to the Royal Enfield stable. It's a factory custom from Royal Enfield, based on the Thunderbird, and it's available in both the 350 cc and 500 cc variants. We spend some time with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 X to see what it offers.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X is the latest offering from the bike maker to get Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS). The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X ABS is priced at Rs. 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is already available for bookings at dealerships. Launched earlier this year, the Thunderbird 500X is the factory-custom version based on the standard model and gets a younger appeal with more vibrant colours or the fuel tank, flat handlebar, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. With the price hike for the ABS version, the Thunderbird 500X is also the most expensive single-cylinder offering at present from the manufacturer.
