New Tata Punch EV

Introduction?

• Tata Motors will launch the 2026 Punch EV on 20 February.
• This is the refreshed version of the EV and gets some design tweaks and new features.
• While the overall design and equipment remains the same, the Punch EV gets some crucial changes.
• These are in line with the facelifted ICE Punch that was recently launched.

• The carmaker has released one image of the 2026 Punch EV giving us an idea about the changes.
• It looks more buffed up thanks to the cosmetic changes.
• These tweaks include a new front bumper and scuff plate.
• Moreover, the Y-shaped LED DRLs are now connected by a black strip.
• There are triangular pods housing the headlights and the fog lamps.
• Interestingly, the bright shade of probably Sunlit Yellow from the Harrier has been introduced for the Punch EV as seen in the images.
• Otherwise, the Punch EV will continue to ride on aero-optimised wheels.
• No details of the rear section have been divulged yet.
• Nevertheless, we can expect it to be similar to the latest ICE version of the 2026 Punch.

• Unlike the ICE Punch, the EV version got Tata's two-spoke steering right from the start.
• The 2026 version will continue to boast this with an illuminated logo in the centre.
• We don't expect any design changes or equipment enhancement given it is already a feature-rich car.
• It might still get a refreshed digital instrument cluster to differentiate it from the outgoing model.
• Other features will be carried over including a large central infotainment touchscreen and touch-based air-con controls.

Powertrain of the Tata Punch EV 2026

• We don't expect any changes to the powertrain of the 2026 Tata Punch EV either.
• This updated version will continue to be offered with the same battery options as the outgoing one.
• The existing Punch EV can be had in two battery options such as 25kWh/35kWh.
• This will continue with a claimed maximum driving range of 365km.
• It will be interesting to see if Tata Motors have made any advancements to this though.
