Indian car designer Dilip Chhabria was arrested earlier this week in a cheating and forgery case. Now more details about the alleged scam involving the DC Avanti has been unearthed, according to the police.

For those who wanted a bit more from the Avanti, DC Designs has answered their prayers. It's called the Avanti 310 and yes it's the better and meaner looking cousin of the Avanti. There are a whole lot of changes made to the car and one look at it and you'll see that it's for those who wanted some oomph out of the Avanti. Well, of course this is a limited edition and only 31 examples will be made.

The DC Avanti will be launched in mid-May and for those who wanted to see the car on Indian roads, well, they will see it next month as deliveries of phase one will be completed by then.

The DC Avanti is one of the most awaited launches, thanks to the fact that it is the first made-in-India sports car. It is now all set to be officially launched next month. However, the company will deliver the cars on first-come-first-serve basis i.e. the folks who opted for early-bird bookings will get the Avanti first.
