  • What's New?

The 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 meets new emission regulations, and also gets some minor tweaks, to both the standarad V4 and V4 S variants. While maintaining the latest Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission regulations, the updated Panigale V4 and V4 S maintain the same power and torque levels of the 2020 model. The 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale, V4 engine continues to produce 214 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 124 Nm of peak torque at 9,500 rpm. The exhaust on the 2021 Panigale V4 uses larger catalysts to maintain the same power, while lowering emissions, as well as adopting a new technology of impregnation of noble metals to maximise the ability to convert polluting gases. The new Panigale V4 features a series of structural, aerodynamic and electronic changes designed to increase speed and responsiveness on track.

In 2020, the aerodynamics of the V4 were updated with a similar package as the V4 R with plexiglass headlight fairing and side fairings, lateral extractors for efficient air flow over the radiator, and the introduction of the winglets. The Panigale V4 also gets the latest generation ‘predicitive’ control system, linked to the six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). The system continuously monitors the angular acceleration of the crankshaft, and the speed of the rear wheel, preventing real wheel slippage in mid-corner, when the rider re-opens the throttle at maximum lean angle.

The electronics package oversees every aspect of the ride: some controls supervise start, acceleration and braking, others govern traction and others again lend a helping hand on corners and out-of-the-corner stretches. It consists of the following:

    • ABS Cornering EVO
    • Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 3
    • Ducati Slide Control (DSC)
    • Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO
    • Ducati Power Launch (DPL)
    • Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2
    • Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO
    • Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES) EVO

For 2021, the Panigale V4 features a new Riding Mode strategy that allows the rider to make quick comparisons between two different configurations on the track to define the best set-up. The Race Riding Mode has been split into two specific mappings for track use (Race A and Race B), now freely comparable in the individual parameters. The Riding Modes allows the riders to choose between four different pre-set riding styles to offer the Panigale V4 behavior that is perfectly adaptable to the rider, the type of track and the environmental conditions.

Among the features added to the Panigale V4, V4 S for 2021 is the chain guard fin, an important safety precaution that allows you to avoid dangerous contacts with the chain and crown in the event of a slide. In addition, for those who use the bike all year round, there is now provision for heated grips, while the ignition key has a new, more modern, and elegant grip. The Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S models are also equipped with new self-bleeding brake and clutch pumps which were used for the first time on the Superleggera V4.

Ducati Panigale V4

The Ducati Panigale V4 is a stunner and promises excellent performance alongside. Does it make for a quality bike? Is it a good value proposition? Here’s taking a closer look at the motorcycle in question.

How is the design?

Luca Pizzato, who is the CEO of Officine GP Design, is the one who came up with this design. Taking a basic V4S and modifying it by adding heaps of bronze and a crazy, Ariel Ace-style girder front end from FG Racing (built from solid billet aluminium with a Ohlins shock), which replaces the stock USD forks, are the two main components of this modification. The custom spoked wheels from Jonich SX are another one of the highlights of the build. These wheels not only look wild, but they also give the kind of performance that is expected from contemporary tubeless tyres.

Copper panelling with a specially textured powder coating is used to cover both the tank and the frame. The lights are from the Ducati XDiavel, while the dash is from the normal model. However, they are joined using a unique mount that was 3D manufactured. Rizoma components such as the fuel cap, levers, and footrests are installed, in addition to a leather monoposto (single rider) saddle crafted by Foglizzo and emblazoned with the V4 Penta emblem. The construction of the vehicle was carried out independently of the Ducati factory, but it demonstrates the capabilities of the V4 platform. The Ducati Panigale V4 bike is designed to provide comfort for its rider, as the front and rear panels are designed for comfort and support while riding on the track. The tail area highlights this design, with two shell-cast aluminium half-shells resembling a car spoiler. It also incorporates the brand's signature split lighting, with a dual LED light mounted on each half-shell.Ducati has taken what was an already great design and made it even better.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 is a beautiful bike that makes a great first impression. The lines are more aggressive and the fairing has been completely redesigned. The new look is modern and sporty, and it’s sure to turn heads when you’re out on the road.

The Ducati Panigale V4 is truly a work of art. It’s a bike that looks as good as it performs, and it’s sure to satisfy even the most demanding riders. If you’re looking for the best performance

How is the performance?

The 1103 cc Desmosedici Stradale engine, which is derived from MotoGP, receives a new silencer and an oil pump, which results in power of 218.48 PS at 13,000 RPM and an increase in torque of 123.6 Nm at 9500 RPM. Once the engine speed reaches 6,000 revolutions per minute (RPM), the torque increases to over 100 Nm. In order to keep the same amount of power while simultaneously reducing emissions, the exhaust system of the 2021 Panigale V4 makes use of larger catalysts. Additionally, it implements a new technology that involves the impregnation of noble metals in order to maximize its capacity to convert polluting gases. The new Panigale V4 incorporates a number of design modifications in the areas of structure, aerodynamics, and electronics that are intended to increase the bike's speed and responsiveness on the track. The highest possible speed for the Ducati Panigale V4 S is 299 kilometers per hour.

Because the gear ratios have been raised to higher levels, the maximum speed has been increased by 5 kilometers per hour. A new Power Mode logic provides four different configurations, which are Full, High, Medium, and Low respectively. Full mode removes all electronic restrictions, thereby enabling the engine to perform to the best of its abilities. The output can be increased to 228 horsepower and 131 Newton-meters through the addition of an optional Akrapovic exhaust, which also results in a weight reduction of 5 kilograms. The V4 S comes standard with 3-spoke forged aluminium alloy wheels that are paired with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres measuring 120/70 ZR17 in the front and 200/60 ZR17 in the rear.

How does the motorbike ride?

The Ducati Panigale V4 is an impressive motorcycle. It's fast, it's agile, and it's just downright fun to ride. But what really sets the Panigale apart from other bikes is its handling. The Panigale feels planted and stable at all times, no matter what speed you're going or what road conditions you're riding on. It's easy to make quick changes in direction, and the bike always feels responsive to your inputs. In short, the Panigale is a joy to ride on both the street and the track.

The Ducati Panigale V4 is a mighty machine that redefines the superbike class. This bike has a more aggressive, muscular design than previous versions, a slimmer headlight and improved aerodynamics. The seat is flat and the fuel tank is streamlined to provide a more comfortable riding position. With all the performance improvements, the Panigale is one of the world's most desirable production bikes. The Ducati Panigale V4's gearbox has been redesigned and features four distinct power delivery modes. This makes the bike feel different depending on its ride mode. The first and second gears are higher than the sixth gear, which acts as an overdrive gear for the rear wheel. This makes it easier to cruise on long roads without experiencing the stress of oversteer.

The Panigale is equipped with three riding modes, each of which can modify any of the aforementioned settings. The Street mode improves the vehicle's overall level of safety, makes the suspension more comfortable, and provides a more gradual response from the throttle. In the meantime, the Sport setting provides a more immediate reaction from the throttle and a more rigid suspension setup. In addition to this, it adjusts the settings of the electronic components to a point where they facilitate less experienced riders experiencing the full fury of the bike in a manner that is more secure. Whenever this mode is selected, both the Slide-by-brake system and the rear wheel lift control system will be operational. The Race mode, on the other hand, adjusts the settings so that they are suitable for a more experienced rider. This option reduces the amount of electronic assistance provided to the rider, but does not turn off any of the helps entirely (the rider, however, is free to do so on their own). The suspension is put into a high-performance, difficult setting; nevertheless, if more adjustments are required, they can be made. Last but not least, the Cornering ABS feature is only available for the front wheel, while the ABS system in the rear wheels is disabled.

How comfortable the motorbike is?

The Ducati Panigale V4 is a comfortable bike to ride. It has a good suspension system that absorbs the bumps on the road and provides a smooth ride. The seat is comfortable and the handlebars are easy to reach. The bike is also lightweight, which makes it easy to manoeuvre.

There are a few differences between the Ducati Panigale V4 and the previous Panigale. The ergonomics remain the same, but there have been a few subtle changes that should make the bike more comfortable. The seat has been redesigned for improved comfort, and the fuel tank is bigger - 17 litres compared to 16 before. It also has a taller sixth gear, which should improve fuel range. However, despite its improved comfort, the Panigale still has a reputation for being a thirsty machine. A full tank of fuel will last only a few sessions of racing, and less than 100 miles on the road if the bike is ridden hard. The Ducati Panigale V4's power figures are affected by EPA noise emission rules, which affect peak power figures. The Panigale V4 has a relatively smooth ride thanks to its oversquare piston setup, which makes it incredibly stable in corners. It's also equipped with next-generation electronic systems and driver-aids to help riders make the best use of its power. It's one of the most comfortable motorcycles in its class, and the comfort level is quite high.

The Panigale V4 has comfortable seats, which are shaped to provide the best possible support while riding. The seat height is increased by 20 mm from the standard model, which increases comfort.

How’s the tech?

The Panigale V4 is also equipped with an advanced TFT panel. DMS enables riders to customize the engine settings to suit their style. The Panigale also features an advanced ABS system with Cornering function. This feature allows you to extend ABS action into cornering situations without risking safety.

Ducati has really outdone themselves with the Panigale V4. This thing is a technological marvel, and it’s clear that they’ve put a lot of R&D into making this the best bike they possibly could. The engine is a work of art, and it’s clear that Ducati has really invested in making sure that it’s as powerful and efficient as possible. The frame is also incredibly light and stiff, which makes for a great ride.

The electronic package includes Ducati Power Launch (DPL), Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) EVO 2, Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO, and Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES) EVO. It also includes ABS Cornering EVO, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 3, Ducati Slide Control (DSC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO (V4 S).

How’s the mileage of the motorbike?

The average fuel economy of a Ducati Panigale V4 S is 13.16 kilometers per liter.

Is the motorbike good value for Money?

The standard V4 and V4 S models of the 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 are both updated with a few small changes to conform to the latest emission laws, and the standard V4 model also fulfils these regulations. The power and torque ratings of the upgraded Panigale V4 and V4 S remain the same as those of the 2020 model while still adhering to the most recent Bharat Stage VI (BS6) emission requirements. The exhaust system of the 2021 Panigale V4 utilizes larger catalysts to keep the same power while reducing emissions. Additionally, a new technology that involves the impregnation of noble metals in order to maximize the ability to convert polluting gases has also been implemented. The new Panigale V4 has a number of structural, aerodynamic, and electronic updates that are all geared toward improving the bike's speed and reactivity on the track.

The brand-new Ducati Panigale V4 S possesses that inborn trait that renders a superbike with more than 200 horsepower extremely user-friendly and secure on a racetrack. Sure, it's not designed for less experienced riders who are new to litre-class superbikes, and despite the state-of-the-art electronics package, one wrong twist of the wrist can make things go wrong very quickly; after all, all that power and torque over a wide rev range is not to be fooled with or taken lightly by any standard. It’s indeed a good value for money motor bike.

How is the after sales service?

Many people who own this bike are happy with its after sales service. The company offers a wide range of services that include regular maintenance, tune-ups, and repairs. You can also find many Ducati Panigale V4 Bike owners who are willing to share their experiences and help you with your own bike.

Which Motorbikes Compete in this Segment?

The Ducati Panigale V4 is currently one of the most potent production superbikes that can be purchased in India. The top five competitors for the Ducati Panigale V4 are the BMW S 1000 RR, the Honda CBR1000RR-R, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, and the Suzuki Hayabusa. Another competitor for the Ducati Panigale V4 is the Ducati Multistrada V4.

Verdict (Is it Value for Money?)

In conclusion, the Panigale V4's performance is nearly on par with that of a WSBK bike after installing the optional Akrapovic full-system exhaust. It takes riders with a great deal of expertise, honed over many years, to make the most of these kinds of motorcycles. All of these aids, however, make the Panigale V4 acceptable and fun even for average riders in terms of safety. But these technologies aren't only for newbies; they also work with a seasoned rider to maximize the vehicle's performance.

In comparison, Ducati's official test rider Alessandro Valia lapped Valencia on a Panigale V4 S (with the exhaust and slick tyres) in a time that was only about four seconds slower than Jorge Lorenzo's 2016 MotoGP race lap record. That's incredible for a street-legal motorcycle that costs a fraction of a MotoGP bike but still performs at a high level.

Pros

  • High-performance superbike
  • Superlative performance & handling
  • Sharp looks, flagship Ducati superbike

Cons

  • Not suitable for everyday road use
  • High-performance superbike for expert riders

Verdict

The new Ducati Panigale V4 S has that innate quality that makes a 200-plus bhp superbike very accessible and safe around a racetrack. Sure, it's not made for less experienced riders new to litre-class superbikes, and despite the state-of-the-art electronics package, one wrong twist of the wrist can make things go wrong very quickly; after all, all that power and torque over a wide rev range is not to be fooled with, or taken lightly, by any standard.
