Introduction

• The new KTM RC 160 was launched in India at the start of 2026.
• In fact, the motorcycle had started reaching dealerships across India ahead of its official launch.
• The RC 160 is the most affordable fully faired motorcycle from the brand.
• Priced at Rs. 1,85,293 (ex-showroom), the RC 160 is about Rs. 18,000 dearer than the standard Yamaha R15.
• As for the looks, the RC 160 boasts the same styling as its elder siblings, the KTM RC 200 and the RC 390.

Features and Equipment of the KTM RC 160

• The KTM RC 160 builds on the strengths of the existing bike's design.
• Hence, it shares the cycle parts and underpinnings with the bigger RCs.
• It is underpinned by a tubular steel trellis frame.
• This frame is suspended on WP Apex upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock.
• The RC 160 rides on lightweight 17-inch wheels borrowed from the KTM 160 Duke.
• On the braking front, it gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Powertrain of the KTM RC 160

• Powering the KTM RC 160 is the same 164.2cc, single-cylinder, petrol engine.
• This is a liquid-cooled motor that powers the KTM 160 Duke as well.
• Its power output is rated at 18.7bhp and 15.5Nm of peak torque like the naked bike.
• As for the transmission, it comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
