New KTM RC 160 Spotted Testing

- KTM RC 160 Spied on test
- Likely to take a lot of its components from the RC 200
- Gets the same 18.7 bhp 164.2 cc engine as 160 Duke
It’s no surprise that following the launch of the 160 Duke in India, KTM has been working on its supersport sibling, the RC 160. The bike has recently been spotted on test in the country. Just as the 160 Duke sits at the entry point of KTM’s Duke lineup, the RC 160 will serve as the most accessible model in the brand’s fully faired range.

KTM RC 160: Spy Shot Details:
The latest spy shots reveal much of the design, which unmistakably looks RC. It also confirms that the RC 160 will share a lot with the RC 200. This includes a large fairing and the same headlight layout as the RC 200. The test bike was seen wearing an orange-and-black colour scheme, which is KTM’s signature paint option. Moreover, the alloy wheel design appears to have been borrowed from the 160 Duke.
KTM RC 160: Expected Features
Feature-wise, the RC 160 is likely to borrow the five-inch LCD from the 160 Duke, complete with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Full LED lighting is also expected to be carried over from the RC 200.

KTM RC 160: Engine
While KTM hasn’t confirmed these details, we know that the RC 160 will use the same engine as the 160 Duke. In the Duke, the 164.2 cc single-cylinder SOHC engine produces 18.7 bhp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. These numbers are expected to remain largely unchanged on the RC version.
