    Toyota Hilux

Toyota is a firm that has been operating for more than sixty years, and in that time, they have developed some of the most famous automobiles that have ever been made. They began with the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, which initially manufactured bicycles and later expanded into the automobile industry. Today, Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world, and it sells vehicles in almost every country on the planet. We're going to take a look at their most recent model, the Toyota Hilux, in this post.

After revealing the highly anticipated Hilux lifestyle pickup truck in India back in January, Toyota Kirloskar Motor announced the prices. The 4x4 MT Standard will cost Rs. 30.40 lakh, while the 4x4 MT High will cost Rs. 37.15 lakh, and the 4x4 AT High will cost Rs. 37.90 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India). In addition, the all-new Toyota Hilux pickup truck will come standard with a 4x4 system for each of its trim levels. This system will be paired with the only available engine option, a 2.8-liter 4-cylinder turbo-diesel. The Toyota Innova Crysta and the Toyota Fortuner are both based on the same platform as the double-cab version of the Toyota Hilux, which is the only trim level available for the Toyota Hilux. It was brought into being by the IMV-2 platform.

    How is the Design?

The Hilux has design features such as a high windscreen and a large hood, which give it the appearance of being quite robust. Steel is utilized for the construction of the sturdy external body, whereas plastic is used for the construction of sections that are considered to be of lower importance, such as the headlights and side mirrors. The rugged suspension and potent engine of the Hilux give it impressive off-road characteristics, allowing it to traverse difficult terrain with ease.

The design of the Toyota Hilux was influenced by the Toyota Innova Crysta, and as a result, it has a hexagonal grille that is flanked by sweptback LED headlights and LED DRLs. However, the hexagonal grille on the Toyota Hilux is slightly wider than the one on the Toyota Innova Crysta. In addition, it has a macho face, and it comes with beefy front bumpers to match. The Hilux's rugged appearance is very effectively preserved by the addition of body cladding, flared wheel arches, side steps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Its urban charm is enhanced by the blacked-out wing mirrors and pillar, as well as by the LED taillights.

    How does it perform?

The Toyota Hilux is a vehicle that is well-known for its toughness and off-road skills. Because of its durability and adaptability to a variety of challenging environments, it has proven to be a favourite with users in the military, the police, and other high-stress professions.

In the manual transmission version of the Toyota Hilux, the 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine from the Fortuner provides the power. This engine generates 204 hp and 420 Newton-meters of peak torque. The automatic transmission version of the Toyota Hilux generates 500 Newton-meters of peak torque. Hill-assist, brake assist, hill descent control, and electronic stability program (ESP), limited-slip differential, and differential lock are all standard on the Toyota Hilux. Additionally, the Hilux comes standard with all drive-assist functions. In addition to that, it can wade through water up to 700 millimetres deep.

    1. What is the Torque Figure?

It produces a healthy 500Nm of torque at 1600-2800rpm.

    2. What is the Power?

Toyota Hilux has a maximum power of 201.15 bhp at 3000-3400rpm.

    3. What is the Top Speed?

The top speed of Toyota Hilux is 168 kmph.

    How’s the Mileage?

The Toyota Hilux comes with fuel economy of 10-14.4 kmpl on average.

    How’s the Driving Experience?

The Toyota Hilux provides a ride that is both dependable and comfortable, making it an excellent option for drivers looking for a new vehicle. Because of the car's exceptional handling and braking capabilities, it is simple to manoeuvre it through congested areas or along curving roads. The cabin is stylishly designed and has plenty of room to move around, and the seats are comfortable. Because of its excellent fuel efficiency, the Toyota Hilux is an excellent option for those who frequently engage in extended driving or commuting.

Both the Hilux and the Fortuner are powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine. The Toyota Hilux was designed to be capable of carrying heavy loads and navigating rough terrain, as this was the primary function it was meant to do. The use case [of both models] is considerably different in terms of carrying stuff or people and in traversing serious 4x4 conditions. These are the sorts of insignificant particulars that have been scrutinized by us. Standard equipment for the Hilux includes a four-wheel drive system. Transmissions with the same number of gears and the same number of speeds come in both manual and automatic forms, just like in the three-row SUV. However, there are some distinctions to be seen here as well. The transmission had also been modified, taking into consideration the norms of the local drivers.

    What’s the Interior like?

The Toyota Hilux is a well-liked vehicle that has been available to consumers for a considerable amount of time. The cabin is very much like the updated version of the Toyota Fortuner that is sold in India. The cabin of the car is very roomy and cozy, making it an excellent option for transporting large groups of people or families. The fact that the interior of the Hilux is completely black will be a boon for people who are always looking for new challenges because it will be simple to clean. The appearance is not very showy or lavish, much like the model that was designed for the European market. All of the controls, on the other hand, are nice and chunky and appear to be positioned in a reasonable manner. In addition, the Fortuner's steering wheel and touchscreen infotainment system are used in this vehicle so that expenses may be kept under control. In addition to the comfy seating, there are a multitude of storage sections and compartments to choose from. Because the engine is dependable and powerful, you can travel for extended periods of time without becoming fatigued.

    Tech and Infotainment

The interior of the Toyota Hilux is completely black, and it features an infotainment system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker sound system by JBL, ventilated seats, cruise control, eight-way electrically adjustable front seats, app-based connected car technology, and a wireless charger, among other amenities. The Toyota Hilux comes equipped with a number of features as standard equipment, including air conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors, alloy wheels, an audio system with an auxiliary input jack and controls positioned on the steering wheel, rear parking sensors, and a 5-speed transmission.

In addition to its overall usefulness as a vehicle for families, the Toyota Hilux is also an excellent choice for off-road driving. Its sturdy chassis guarantees that it can tackle rough terrain with ease, and its high ground clearance enables it to pass even the deepest potholes without much difficulty. Both of these features combine to make it an extremely versatile vehicle.

    Safety Equipment

The Toyota Hilux is a well-liked option for those looking for a dependable and economical automobile option. When thinking about buying or driving this car, there are a few safety elements that you ought to take into consideration.

The airbag system should be your first priority when thinking about safety features. In the event that you are involved in a collision, this system's front, rear, and side airbags will deploy to help protect you. Seatbelts also play an important part in ensuring the safety of passengers, so it is imperative that they are worn correctly at all times.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) is yet another essential safety feature. If you suddenly come against an obstacle on the road, this technology will assist you in stopping your vehicle as efficiently as possible. Always keep your hands well-covered when driving, and under no circumstances should you get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or any other narcotic.

The top-end Toyota Hilux comes with 4X4 and features like seven airbags, seat belt warning, over-speed warning, anchor points for child seats, child locks, anti-theft engine immobilizer, speed-sensing door locks, and more.

    Which variant to buy?

There are three distinct iterations of the Toyota Hilux automobile: the normal model, the double cab model, and the four-wheel drive model. Your requirements and tastes should direct your choice of product. The Toyota Hilux has a pricing range that begins at Rs. 33.99 Lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 36.80 Lakh. There are three different models available for the Toyota Hilux. The base model of the Hilux is the STD, and the highest trim level available is the Toyota Hilux High AT, which has a price tag of Rs. 36.80 Lakh. It includes a seating layout that is very comfortable as well as a large amount of space for cargo. The double cab version is great for persons who require more space than what is provided by the normal version, and the 4x4 version is ideal for people who want additional mobility while they are out in rural places or on rough terrain. Both versions are available for purchase.

Which Cars Compete in this Segment?

The Toyota Hilux competes with the Isuzu V-Max D-Cross in the Indian market. It does make for a more solid proposition, considering its features and build quality.

    Verdict (Value for Money?)

Many people choose to drive Toyota Hilux vehicles. People that need a lot of space and a capable vehicle will find that the Toyota Hilux is the appropriate vehicle for them because it is roomy, tough, and trustworthy. The Toyota Hilux has been a consistent performer in several global markets for a number of years now, and research has shown that it is an extremely cost-effective choice. In general, we believe that the Toyota Hilux is an excellent option for purchasers searching for a high-quality automobile that excels in all aspects.

The Toyota Hilux can be purchased for approximately 30.40 lakh, which is not a small amount of money; nonetheless, we believe that the investment is worthwhile in light of the vehicle's extensive feature set and long-term reliability. In light of the fact that it is so widely used, we believe that the Toyota Hilux provides an outstanding amount of bang for the buck. Not only does it provide excellent performance and a wide range of application options, but it also has a well-deserved reputation for being dependable and sturdy. The Toyota Hilux is, in our opinion, an outstanding option for anyone shopping for a high-calibre automobile that excels in all aspects.
