Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

2022 Alto K10 adopts a brand-new design that is a significant departure from its previous generation. Gone is the boxy shape, replaced by a more curvaceous body that resembles the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

The Alto K10 is larger and more stylish than the Alto 800, with an improved stance and refined design elements. The new honeycomb grille and attractive headlamps bring a modern touch, but the lack of DRLs is a notable miss. The black ORVMs on higher trims could have benefitted from body-colored treatment for a more premium look​.

The Alto K10 is powered by the new K10C 1.0-liter petrol engine, offering better fuel efficiency and a more refined driving experience. This 3-cylinder, dual-jet, dual-VVT motor replaces the older K10B engine and delivers solid performance for city driving.

The engine delivers a 66 bhp power output and 89 Nm of torque, which feels adequate for a lightweight car like the Alto K10. The manual transmission offers quick gear shifts and a peppier response, while the AGS gearbox provides a more relaxed driving experience, especially in urban settings.

Alto K10 offers decent ride quality, especially for city commutes. The suspension setup is slightly stiffer, making it feel bumpy on rough roads, but smooth on well-paved surfaces.

At higher speeds, the car’s stiffer suspension makes bumps and undulations more pronounced, but it handles well at regular city speeds. The 4.50-meter turning radius makes it an agile car, perfect for navigating through congested urban areas

For a small car, the Alto K10 offers a surprisingly spacious and ergonomic cabin. The seats are comfortable, and the higher driving position ensures a clear view of the road ahead.

The SmartPlay Studio system, available only in the VXi+ trim, enhances the overall driving experience. The rear passengers enjoy decent legroom and headroom, although squeezing in three adults might feel a bit tight. Unfortunately, features like power windows and adjustable headrests are missing on lower trim.
