Hong Kong ePrix Winner Daniel Abt Disqualified For Technical Infringement

In a shocker for Audi Sport and driver Daniel Abt, the driver has been disqualified from Race 2 of the Hong Kong ePrix, promoting Felix Rosenqvist to the to top spot. Abt was stripped of his maiden Formula E win, also a first for the now factory-backed team, after Edoardo Mortara spun in the closing stages of the race while in the lead.

    Daniel Abt secured his first ever win in Formula E in Round 2 of the Season 4 Hong Kong ePrix. The win also marked the factory backed team's first ever since Audi came on board. Abt's victory though was nothing short of luck as race leader Edoardo Mortara spun in the closing stages of the race, handing over the win. Meanwhile, Mahindra Racing's Felix Rosenqvist finished second in the race, securing the second podium for the team this weekend ahead of Mortara.

    DS Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird sealed the first win in the Formula E Season 4 opener in Hong Kong. The victory though was nothing less than dramatic as Bird survived a drive through penalty to claim the win. Finishing second was Jean-Eric Vergne of Techeetah, who started the Hong Kong ePrix on pole but couldn't hold the lead for long over Bird's aggressive drive.

    Liberty Media is the new owner of Formula 1 and 2018 will see a complete revamp of the sport by its new owners. Taking its first step towards the overhaul, the new management of F1 revealed the all-new F1 logo at the end of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina circuit. The brand new and more simplistic logo replaces the current one, which was used for the past 23 years.

    Bringing an end to an exceptional year of Formula 1 2017, Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas sealed the win in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, beating teammate Lewis Hamilton. Bottas was undeterred starting at pole, and led the race throughout to win with a gap of 3.899 seconds over Hamilton. The Abu Dhabi GP also marked Bottas' third win of the season, while Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel took the last place on the podium, having started at P3.
