Maruti Suzuki Eeco Reaches 5 Lakh Sales Milestone

The Eeco was designed to cater the needs of the middle-class Indian family especially in tier 2 cities and also to support small scale business. It has a huge customer base in the intra city logistics market and is preferred by the courier and online-retail companies along with a good customer set of local sole-proprietors. The Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that develops 73 bhp and 101 Nm of peak torque. Maruti has also added a CNG variant in the Eeco line-up that delivers a high fuel economy of 21.8 kmpl and 17 per cent of total Eeco sales are attributed to the CNG variant.

This is for the fifth time Hero has managed to cross the seven lakh sales mark in a month, three of which were in this financial year 2018-19.

The company recorded monthly domestic sales of 14,820 units in September 2018 while exports stood at 545 units.

    Royal Enfield registered a growth of two per cent with an overall sale of 71,662 units (domestic + exports) in September 2018, as compared to 70,431 units that were sold during the same period last year. The Chennai-based bike maker continues to post a consistent growth momentum after witnessing a two per cent in the month of August as well this year. Royal Enfield's domestic sales for September remained largely stagnant at 70,065 units, registering just a one per cent growth over 69,393 units sold in September 2017. The exports, however, saw a massive hike in volumes with 1597 units shipped, an increase of 54 per cent over 1038 units exported in September last year.
