SIAM Anticipates Carmakers To Miss The Sales Target In FY2019
2018 was a mixed bag for carmakers in India as there were several roadblocks which the industry body didn't see coming. At the start of 2018 the sales started on a good note as the first quarter of the Fiscal Year 2018 posted healthy sales. However, that didn't go for long on the wake of several disruptions which affected the sentiments of car buyers and in-turn the sales in the auto industry. Therefore, the Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) is expecting to miss the growth target of 7 per cent for the passenger vehicle segment in FY2019.

2019 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Bookings Open Ahead Of Launch

The new generation Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is scheduled for launch on January 23, 2019, and ahead of its debut, the automaker has commenced accepting bookings for the all-new model. The third generation Wagon R is now available for bookings at any of the Maruti dealerships pan India for a token amount of Rs. 11,000, while customers can also book the model online on the company's website. The all-new Wagon R is not only based on a completely new platform but also packs in more features and more comfort over its predecessor. The new model is larger in proportions too over the outgoing version.

While Tata Motors' next big launch is the Harrier SUV scheduled for launch on January 23, 2019, the automaker will be entering the premium hatchback segment towards the end of this year or in early 2020 with the 45X. The Tata 45X was one of the two new concepts (alongside the H5X) the company showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo and will transform into a Maruti Suzuki Baleno rival. nese car maker Toyota tied up with Maruti Suzuki in 2017 and as part of the collaboration, the companies will be exchanging technologies and vehicles to be badge engineered. Now, we know that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Corolla will be the initial models to be shared between the companies but a timeline for launch is yet to be confirmed. Now, a PTI report suggests that Toyota India will be bringing its version of the Baleno hatchback to the market in the second half of 2019-2020 financial year. The Toyota badged Baleno will not only carry a new name but new features as well that will make it unique when compared to the Suzuki badged model.

It looks like that Mercedes-Benz has sensed the competition the upcoming BMW X7 could give to the GLS.
