Hyundai's new small car, codenamed AH2, is all set to be launched in India this festive season and sources in the company have told us that the car will go on sale in mid-October. Expected to be named as the 'Santro', the upcoming hatchback will also be the first-ever Hyundai car to come with an AMT a.k.a. automated manual transmission system.

Its Official! The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is now the new lap record holder at the legendary Nurburgring race-track in Germany. The latest iteration of the Aventador (and most likely the final version) has set a lap time of 6:44.97, which is over two seconds faster than the previous record holder, the Porsche GT2 RS, which had set a time of 6:77.3 and even the all-electric Nio EP9 supercar that has set a record of 6:45.9. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ will be officially unveiled to the public at the upcoming 2018 Monterrey Car Week and will be available in limited units in both coupe and cabriolet form.

Lamborghini's latest and most likely final iteration of the Aventador will be the fastest, most powerful and possibly one of the craziest street going cars we have ever seen. Named the Aventador SVJ or Superveloce Jota, this final version of the V12 powered supercar will be packed to the gills with active aerodynamics that the automaker calls ALA or Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva. And of course, it will have even more power than ever before (rumoured to be around the 800 bhp mark). The new Lamborghini Aventador has never really been a track weapon but this new version will be the most track focused street car to ever come out of the Italian automaker and where better to prove yourself than the famed Nurburgring. We have all seen pictures of the car going around the German racetrack and now according to reports by the German publication Auto Motor und Sport, the SVJ has broken the Nurburgring lap time by setting a new record of 6:44.95, two seconds faster than the current lap record for production cars.

Mahindra & Mahindra has been working on a new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) codenamed U321, and the model will be arriving at showrooms later this year. While we've spotted the U321 testing a number of times now, the Indian auto giant is finally ready to christen the new brand name for its upcoming MPV. Mahindra will be revealing the name for the U321 on July 31, 2018 in the presence of Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, and Rajan Wadhera, President - Automotive Sector.

The new generation Honda Civic looks stellar and has now become even more convenient with the option of an automatic on the diesel version. Honda has introduced a new 9-speed automatic transmission on the Civic diesel in Europe, the first time the company is offering the option of a diesel automatic on the sedan. The new Civic diesel automatic promises to offer added convenience to the sedan. Until now, the sedan was offered with a manual and CVT gearbox options on the petrol, while the diesel only used a 6-speed manual transmission.

Images of a production-ready Ford Figo facelift have recently surfaced online. Expected to be launched in India later this year, the facelifted Figo was seen without any camouflage, and interestingly enough with a CNG sticker as well.

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift has been in the offing for a while now, and we now have a clear timeline for the launch of the updated model. Following the roll out of the first teaser video of the updated model, Maruti Suzuki has now confirmed to CarAndBike that the Ciaz facelift will be hitting the markets across the country by mid-August, 2018. While a launch date is yet to be confirmed, a clear timeline is surely something to look forward to, also for those looking at bringing home the revised version.
