The Tuono’s front particularly looks different from other conventional streetfighters.

Lighting & Front Identity

• There’s a full-LED headlight cluster up front with LED DRLs and indicators.
• The Tuono gets a small front cowl that keeps the USD front forks exposed.

Side Profile & Rear Section

• The muscular tank merges well into the side panels.
• It has 17-inch cast wheels, with a three-inch front and a thick 4.5-inch rear wheel rim.
• The tail section is sharp and compact, with a passenger seat cover accessory available.

Practical Integration

• The bike gets a higher handlebar riser and a seat with special foam padding.
• There are standard adjustable brake levers and a standard fly screen, too.

There is only a Special Edition available in the Indian market right now.

In dense stop-and-go traffic, the twin-cylinder motor returns roughly 24 kmpl. But with the 12.7-litre fuel tank, you can at least cover around 300 to 330 kilometres before a refuel.

There is an advanced electronic suite added to the Tuono 457 by Aprilia.

But Preetam points this out,

"A quickshifter still isn’t standard, and there’s no lean-sensitive function on the ABS."

Instrumentation & Connectivity

• The cockpit features a crisp 5-inch full-colour TFT dashboard.
• Navigation through its menus is handled via backlit switchcubes on the handlebars.

Preetam states,

City Driving

• The wide, upright handlebar provides excellent steering leverage inside the city.
• At 175 kg (kerb weight), the bike also feels quite nimble and easy to manage.
• The 800 mm seat height allows average-height riders to plant both feet on the ground.

Highway & Track Driving

• The bike’s chassis remains very solid during aggressive cornering.
• Both the Aprilia Traction Control (ATC) and dual-channel ABS work discreetly.
• The tyres offer high mechanical grip when leaning into fast sweeping corners.

Suspension Behaviour

• Both the USD front forks and the rear monoshock are adjustable.
• They can comfortably handle minor bumps, but harsher potholes will be felt.

If you want a high-performance naked motorcycle that has true European engineering in its build quality, then the Aprilia Tuono 457 will feel like a value-for-money nameplate. Its 457 cc parallel-twin engine produces an exciting exhaust note and smooth power delivery, while the twin-spar aluminium chassis offers a lot of cornering agility.

But there are also a few trade-offs. The Rs. 3.99 lakh price tag means it is pricier than single-cylinder competitors, and the lack of wind protection will challenge your highway touring aspirations over 120 kmph.
