Mahindra Has Retailed Almost 2000 Electric Vehicles In October 2019

Mahindra Electric, the EV arm of the utility vehicle manufacturer, Mahindra and Mahindra has retailed almost 2000 electric vehicles in India, in October 2019. According to a social media post by Pawan Goenka, MD & CEO, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., the 2000 units are the cumulative sales between e-Verito, e-Alfa Mini, and Treo.

    Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has confirmed that the Japanese automaker will be introducing battery electric vehicles (BEV) in the Indan market. The new Toyota electric vehicle for India is under development in collaboration with Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC), the manufacturer's top official has confirmed ahead of the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Toyota's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Shigeki Terashi said, "India is, of course, one of the countries we have in mind for introduction (of battery electric vehicles). Toyota is large in Japan but has limited presence in India. Maruti Suzuki is large in India...With Suzuki we will explore the possibilities of BEVs (in India)".

    Tesla Inc was added to a government list of approved automotive manufacturers, China's industry ministry said on Thursday, as it granted the electric-vehicle maker a certificate it needs to start production in the country. The list was published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This means "the green light is fully given to Tesla for production in China," said Yale Zhang, head of the Shanghai-based consultancy Automotive Foresight. Tesla can start production any time, he said.
