    Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech has announced the launch of the a new version to the Ridge electric scooter. The Okinawa Ridge+ is the new lithium-ion battery powered version and has been priced at Rs. 64,998 (ex-showroom, India). The new Okinawa Ridge+ uses an 800 watt, BLDC water-proof motor and extends the scooter's range to a claimed 120 km in a single charge. The Ridge+ will be sold alongside the standard Okinawa Ridge that used a lead battery. The new Ridge+ is substantially more expensive than the lead battery powered Ridge by about Rs. 21,000.

    Maruti Suzuki Flags Off Electric Vehicles For Field Testing In India
    Following up with its announcement to introduce electric vehicles in India by 2020, Maruti Suzuki flagged off electric vehicles for field testing in India. The 50 prototype electric vehicles have been developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan, while the cars have been built at Maruti Suzuki's Gurugram facility in Haryana, as part of the company's make in India commitment. The electric vehicles were flagged off from the Gurugram facility by Maruti Suzuki - Senior Executive Director (Engineering), CV Raman. The prototype electric vehicles have been developed on an existing model by Suzuki Japan, the company said in a statement.
