F1: Rosberg Trumps FP2 Session as Hamilton Limps With Electronic Issues

While it was a good FP1 session for Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg garnered back some revenge by being the fastest man on track in FP2 for the Italian Grand Prix. However, it has to be noted that his team-mate Lewis Hamilton missed the majority of the session due to an electronics issue.
Hamilton was stranded in the garage for the first hour of running and with word going around that it may be an engine issue, it looked a bit troubling. However, he was out on the track with 30 minutes to spare and managed to complete 17 laps and set a best time just 0.061s slower than Rosberg.
Yet again, it was Ferrari right up there with Kimi Raikkonen going third fastest and only 0.106s off Rosberg's time, beating team-mate Fernando Alonso by almost a quarter of a second.
Williams too showed a bit a pace after a lukewarm FP1 session as Bottas went fifth quickest. He was just 0.004s clear of both Jenson Button and Sebastian Vettel as they set identical times in sixth and seventh places respectively.
Magnussen was eighth while Felipe Massa, Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Perez within 0.9s of the fastest time. It was interesting to see that all eight Mercedes-powered cars appeared in the top 12 positions and that too on a track with a strong top speed as all the cars run low downforce configurations.
The FP3 session and Qualification rounds start tomorrow and the battle between the two Mercedes drivers will be much looked forward to but the crowd will be all for a Ferrari driver making it big and Raikkonen and Alonso seem to be poised for a start from the second row on race day.
