Delhi Gets First Automated Driving Test Centre; To Be Maintained By Maruti Suzuki India

Delhi today got its first ever fully Automated Driving Test Centre (ADTC). Developed in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki India, the test centres will be maintained by the carmaker for three years.

    Porsche Is Testing Autonomous Driving Technology In Its Workshop
    Porsche is testing autonomous driving in the companys own workshop. This project involves Porsche working with start-up Kopernikus Automotive to install a test field on the companys premises in Ludwigsburg. Kopernikus Automotive specialises in technology for self-driven cars, and the aim of the joint project is to enable vehicles to drive from their parking space to the lifting platform and back again, fully autonomously. It is intended that mechanics will be able to manoeuvre the sports cars to the correct position in the workshop, quickly and automatically, using a tablet. The technology shall provide vehicle orientation and independently detect objects.

The new facility is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hero MotoCorp and is located in Stephanskirchen near Munich. The new German R&D centre will be working on collaboration with Hero's Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Hero Tech Center Germany will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Hero MotoCorp and will be the epicentre for the company's motorsport activities.
