It was the 10th edition of the Car and Bike Awards and what a decade it has been. The automobile industry has changed and so have the various aspects through which we look at cars. Suddenly, there are more cars than ever before and this year it was not just about the cars but a celebration of what these ten years have been all about.

At the awards night for NDTV Car & Bike Awards 2015, Nitin Gadkari, minister for road transport and highways, spoke on the government's plans for highway construction and ways to improve the road safety to curb the rising number of road fatalities in India.

BMW, today, revealed the first pictures of the upcoming 1 series facelift ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2015. Since the company sells the 1 Series in India as well, the updated model will also enter our shores by the end of this year.

The announcement came at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo where BMW specifically said that the i8 will be launched in India in the course of the year. Well, there is good news as the car has made its way to India and will be launched next month.

Triumph Motorcycles, the British bikemaker, that entered India last year, has had a successful first year. The company sold a total of 1300 motorcycles in the first year of its inception, which is actually not a bad figure for a premium bike maker that is fairly new to the market.

Priced at Rs 6.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Cross Polo petrol model derives its power from a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 74bhp and 110Nm of torque. Just so you know, this petrol engine is the same that powers the Polo.

Another Chinese automaker is showing vehicles this year at the auto show in Detroit, raising the perennial question about when these companies might start selling in the international markets.

The all-new Ford GT has been unveiled with a new twin-turbo EcoBoost engine which delivers more than 600bhp. It is perhaps the most important car to be showcased at the Detroit Motorshow because this one is a prelude to the production version, which will be introduced in 2016.
