TVS claims this scooter’s flat, straight-edge design actually cuts through the air better, improving battery range by about 10 per cent.

Lighting & Front Identity

• You get a wide LED headlight integrated cleanly into a flat apron.
• Right above it sits a tall, clear flyscreen.
• It does a decent job of deflecting wind away from your chest.
• But mostly, it just gives the scooter a taller, more substantial look from the front.

Side Profile & Rear Section

• From the side, it's all about maximising space.
• The floorboard is massive, giving you 290 mm of room for your feet, a backpack, or cargo boxes.
• The seat is also huge, measuring 845 mm, so you and a passenger won't be struggling for room.
• The back end chops off suddenly, finishing with a simple LED light bar that handles both the taillight and the turn indicators.
• Functional, chunky grab rails complete the rear end.

Practical Integration

• The boot gives you 34 litres of storage space, which easily helps out with a massive grocery haul.
• Up front, you get an open glove box for your phone, sitting right next to a standard USB charging port.

You can pick up the Orbiter in two versions. The V1 gets a 1.8 kWh battery, which is fine for quick local errands. But if you cover a lot of ground daily, you will want the V2. And if you go for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan on the V1, the initial buying price plummets to just Rs. 49,999. You simply pay for the scooter's body and shell, and then pay a monthly subscription fee for the battery based on your usage.

For instance, in Delhi, even if the V2 has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.18 lakh, you get a discount of around Rs. 32,000, which brings the on-road price down to Rs. 92, 794. Therefore, contact your local dealerships to find out the most accurate prices.

Because the top speed is locked at 68 kmph, the Orbiter manages to extract excellent endurance from its battery packs. The V1 holds a massive advantage in charging speed, taking just 2 hours and 20 minutes to hit 80 per cent on a standard home plug, while the heavier V2 requires over 4 hours. Buying the scooter up front will get you three years of warranty on the battery packs, but the BaaS option will extend that warranty to five years.

Even though this is an entry-level scooter, TVS did not strip away the digital features. You still get a heavy dose of the SmartXonnect ecosystem that makes the brand's premium scooters so popular.

Instrumentation & Connectivity

• The dashboard relies on a 5.5-inch colour LCD screen.
• It avoids the massive cost of a full TFT touchscreen but still delivers excellent clarity.
• By pairing your smartphone via Bluetooth, you unlock the TVS SmartXonnect suite.
• It gives you turn-by-turn map navigation directly on the screen, incoming call alerts, and SMS notifications.
• Through the connected mobile app, you can also track the live GPS location of the scooter, check your battery health, and set up geo-fencing to receive alerts if the vehicle is moved without your permission.

Practical Technology & Safety Integration

• TVS loaded the Orbiter with features specifically designed to handle difficult city parking.
• It comes standard with an automated Hill Hold assist, which locks the brakes for a few seconds if you stop on a steep incline or a flyover, preventing you from rolling backwards.
• A Reverse Park Assist allows you to back the scooter out of tight spots at a walking pace, removing the need to paddle backwards with your feet.
• You also get an emergency crash alert system that automatically notifies emergency contacts if the sensors detect a severe fall or accident.

The Orbiter is completely forgiving and incredibly easy to ride.

City Handling

• Weighing just 101 kg in the V1 trim and 112 kg for the V2, it is remarkably easy to flick in traffic.
• The 760 mm seat height is one of the lowest in the segment, allowing riders under 5 feet 4 inches to plant both feet firmly on the ground at traffic lights.
• In Eco mode, the throttle response is deliberately gentle, ensuring new riders are never caught off guard by sudden surges in torque.
• But braking is one area where TVS clearly cut costs. The scooter uses drum brakes on both the front and the rear.
• While the Combined Braking System (CBS) balances the stopping power adequately, a front disc brake would have made the overall package much better.

Highway Stability

• The 68 kmph top speed limit is a major liability on the highways, forcing you to stick to the extreme left to avoid faster traffic.
• However, on wide city arterial roads, it remains remarkably planted. The stability comes entirely from the 14-inch front wheel.
• It tracks perfectly straight, refusing to get unsettled by strong crosswinds or uneven highway expansion joints.

Suspension Behaviour

• TVS used a highly traditional setup: telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers.
• Because the scooter is built to handle heavy loads on its massive flat floorboard, the suspension can absorb serious impact.
• It’s not bothered by standard city potholes and broken patches of road at all.
• And even when fully loaded with a pillion passenger and heavy bags, the rear suspension refuses to bottom out.

Both variants are honestly city-confined, so there isn’t a practical option for which one would return more performance. The biggest factor worth choosing one over the other is the extra driving range.

Best for Extreme Budgets: TVS Orbiter V1 (BaaS)

If you want to shift to an electric scooter but cannot afford to spend Rs. 1 lakh upfront, use the Battery-as-a-Service plan. Getting the scooter for just Rs. 49,999 heavily reduces your initial loan burden. The monthly subscription fee also covers battery health, meaning if the battery degrades years down the line, TVS replaces it without a massive out-of-pocket expense for you.

Best for Short Errands: TVS Orbiter V1

If you prefer to own your vehicle completely and avoid monthly subscription fees, buy the standard V1 then. If your daily commute is under 20 kilometres, like dropping kids at school or running to the local market, the 1.8 kWh battery is more than enough, and it charges back up in just over two hours.

Best for Daily Commuters: TVS Orbiter V2

If you travel heavily for office work or delivery jobs from one city to the next, you definitely need the V2. The larger 3.1 kWh battery eliminates range anxiety, giving you a solid 115+ kilometres of real-world endurance, so you do not have to watch the battery gauge during long trips nervously.
