Assembling the SUV locally helps Volkswagen keep the final price somewhat in check compared to other options. But buyers still have to pay a premium for this car.

Buying a heavy, seven-seat SUV with a powerful petrol engine and an all-wheel-drive system means you have to accept higher fuel bills. However, out on the highway, the seven-speed automatic gearbox keeps the engine rpm very low, helping you stretch a full tank of petrol over long interstate road trips. Fuel-tank capacity, meanwhile, stands at 61 litres.

If you are already spending over Rs. 40.00 Lakh on a premium SUV, you should stretch your budget and buy the R-Line. There’s a base Elegance model of the Tayron, but honestly, it looks a bit plain due to the heavy chrome styling and smaller wheels.

In contrast, the R-Line completely changes the stance of the car with its 19-inch wheels and blacked-out trim. More importantly, the suspension system on the R-Line marginally makes both the ride comfort over bad roads and the handling in fast corners much better.
