BSA Motorcycles, founded in 1861 as a gun-manufacturing company, ventured into motorcycle production in 1910 with its first model. Throughout the early 20th century, BSA motorcycles gained popularity, with production ramping up until the outbreak of World War I in 1914. During the post-war period, BSA resumed production, experiencing growth and expansion into the 1920s. The interwar years saw BSA solidify its position as a leading motorcycle manufacturer, introducing new models and technologies. The onset of World War II in 1939 brought about a shift in production to support the war effort. In the 1950s, BSA experienced a resurgence, introducing iconic models like the BSA Gold Star. The 1960s saw BSA motorcycles reach peak popularity, with strong sales worldwide. However, by the 1970s, BSA faced financial challenges and ceased motorcycle production. Despite this in 2021, after a tantalising wait, BSA Company Ltd launched its first new model, following its acquisition in October 2016 by Classic Legends Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group.
