The Hyundai Xcent subcompact sedan has been removed from the company's India website. The Xcent was the Hyundai India's first sub-4 metre sedan in India, and earlier this year, it was replaced by a new-generation model, which was launch with a new name - Hyundai Aura.

Hyundai Motor India today officially commenced the road testing of its upcoming subcompact sedan, the Hyundai Aura. Expected to be the next-generation model of the Hyundai Xcent, the company today flagged-off the prototype model of the Aura sedan from its Chennai plant, which will be driven across India.

Hyundai India today announced the name of its upcoming sedan, which will be called the Aura. While the company hasn't revealed any specific details regarding the car, we believe Hyundai Aura will be the name of the next-generation Xcent subcompact sedan.

Images of the next-generation Hyundai Xcent subcompact sedan have surfaced online, and this time around we get to see the car in new dual-tone colour. Although heavily camouflaged, the car appears to be nearing production stage and a deeper look at the exposed areas reveal the metallic black roof and the light blue body colour of the car.

Hyundai India has updated the Xcent subcompact sedan with additional safety features on the base variants. The Hyundai Xcent now comes with ABS and EBD across all trims, along with dual front airbags that were already on offer. The update comes a year after the Xcent facelift went on sale in the country with comprehensive changes. With the new safety features, Hyundai has positioned the model more aggressively compared to other other offerings in the segment including the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and the likes. Apart from the safety update, the Xcent does not get any feature or mechanical changes.
