The Dot One was unveiled on December 15, wearing an introductory price tag of Rs 99,999 – but only for those who already held Simple One bookings.

It appears that the Bengaluru-based start-up is keen on converting existing orders for the One into bookings for the more affordable Dot One.

With not even 50 units of the Simple One electric scooter on the roads, a new, cheaper scooter is being pitched to seemingly keep interest alive.

The Simple Dot One electric scooter will slot in below the flagship One model, but will still cost in excess of Rs 1 lakh.

The EV start-up is also contemplating a long-range variant with a third battery pack for its flagship One e-scooter.

Having taken well over a year and a half to put its maiden electric scooter into production, the EV start-up only delivered a handful of scooters in Bengaluru on June 6.

While prices were originally announced back in 2021, deliveries have seen notable delays since

EV startup Simple Energy has begun taking registrations for test rides in cities across India. The company reports that it received over 20,000 test ride registrations in India in just 24 hours.

Following the test rides, deliveries will begin of Simple Energy's flagship electric scooter, the Simple ONE.
