Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its new 125 cc scooter, the Hero Destini 125, tomorrow in India. First revealed to us early this year in February, at the Auto Expo 2018 as the Duet 125, the new Destini 125 is the first 125 cc model to join the company scooter line-up.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced that the company's top-selling two-wheeler, the Honda Activa, has recently breached the 2 crore sales mark in India. Evidently, the popular Honda Active is now the first scooter in the country to cross this huge sales milestone.

The new Hero Destini 125 is based on the 110 cc Duet but gets cosmetic changes for a new look. This looks a new front apron with chrome accents, and curvy body panels. The 125 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine is a bored out version of the 110 cc mill offers has been tweaked to offer better low-end power for higher urban usability. The motor has been tuned to produce 8.7 bhp at 6750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque available at 5000 rpm. Maximising fuel efficiency, the Destini 125 will be the first Hero scooter to get idle-start-stop-system (i3S system).

Internationally, the 125 Duke is offered with ABS as standard, which could be skipped on the India-spec model since it is not mandatory for motorcycles below 125 ccc. Moreover, the bike will get a price advantage with the absence of ABS. The bike is likely to get CBS (Combined Braking System) instead, which is a lot cheaper in comparison. The TFT screen that is offered on the KTM 390 Duke is also likely to be given a miss to keep costs in check.
