Yamaha EC-06

Introduction

• Yamaha India launched its first electric scooter EC-06 at Rs. 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom) in January 2026.
• With this launch, India Yamaha Motor has finally stepped into the EV segment.
• Sales will start phase-wise in select cities through its premium Blue Square showroom network.
• The Yamaha EC-06 is being offered in a single shade called Bluish White.

Features and Equipment of the Yamaha EC-06

• Unlike Yamaha's Aerox-E, the EC-06 gets an LCD dash with a TFT screen as its based on the River Indie.
• There is a built-in telematics unit with a SIM, enabling real-time connectivity and data access.
• The latter is an app integration through the Yamaha Motor Connect R application.
• The e-scooter gets three riding modes to choose from, along with a reverse mode for parking ease.
• What adds more to the practicality quotient is a sizeable 24.5-litre under-seat storage provision.
• On the suspension front, there's a telescopic front set-up with hydraulic dampers and a rear coil spring.
• It gets 200mm disc brakes at both ends with a Combi Brake System (CBS).

Powertrain of the Yamaha EC-06

• The Yamaha EC-06 gets a 4kWh high-capacity fixed battery pack.
• This scooter is claimed to have a certified riding range of 169km.
• Powering a 4.5kW electric motor, it has a peak power output of 6.7kW.
• The scooter’s battery can be charged at home through a standard socket, with a full charge taking 8-9 hours.
• The battery comes with a three-year or 30,000km warranty.
