Pros Cons of BMW R nineT Scrambler

Pros

  • Modern-classic appeal
  • Comfortable riding position
  • Tech laden

Cons

  • Expensive proposition
  • Limited service reach
  • Unpleasant exhaust note

Verdict

The BMW R Nine T Scrambler is BMW's version of a neo-retro scrambler. It has a lovely retro charm and is offered in two variants - R NineT and R NineT Scrambler. The scrambler is the more affordable model. The R NineT uses the air-cooled, 1170 cc boxer twin engine. The engine makes 109 bhp and peak torque of 116 Nm. And while it is a classic model, it still gets all the required modern features. With prices upwards of Rs. 16 lakh, the motorcycle is an expensive proposition.

Pros Cons Kawasaki Ninja 650

Pros

  • Refined engine
  • Comfortable riding posture
  • Value-friendly

Cons

  • Dated design
  • Slightly heavier
  • Low ground clearance

Verdict

The Ninja 650 may be a middleweight, but it feels like a small bike, and it doesn't have the intake roar or exhaust note associated with a high-performance motorcycle. It feels at ease handling traffic, and is equally comfortable on the highway, if you're in the mood for occasional long-distance touring. If you're looking to upgrade from a smaller bike, or you're new to motorcycling, the Kawasaki Ninja 650 could well be all the bike you need.
