Royal Enfield offers the Super Meteor 650 in three variants — Astral, Interstellar and Celestial — each catering to a slightly different kind of cruiser buyer.

While the engine, chassis and overall riding experience remain identical across all three versions, the differences come down to styling, finish levels and touring equipment. This means your choice is less about performance and more about how you want your cruiser to feel and look.

Astral (Base Variant)

The Astral variant represents the most accessible entry into the Super Meteor lineup. It keeps things simple and focuses on the core cruiser experience.

On open highways, the engine really comes into its own. The six-speed gearbox works smoothly, and the motor feels calm even at triple-digit speeds. The long wheelbase gives the motorcycle a calm, settled character, especially once we’re riding at highway speeds. It tracks straight and stable at highway speeds, which builds confidence over long distances. The Showa suspension setup, having USD (upside down) forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, plays an important role in that stability. It absorbs bumps and keeps the bike composed over uneven surfaces.

When the road begins to curve, the Super Meteor still feels predictable. You won’t attack corners aggressively on a cruiser like this, but the handling remains reassuring. As Preetam Bora explains, “The bike feels stable and planted through sweeping curves.”

Rider Ergonomics

One of the first things you notice when you swing a leg over the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is how welcoming the riding position feels. The seat sits low at 740 millimetres, so most riders can easily place both feet on the ground. Once you are settled in, the cruiser ergonomics become obvious. The forward-set footpegs, wide handlebar and low seat create a comfortable cruiser riding position. This design provides an effective position for long highway rides. Instead of leaning forward or putting pressure on your wrists, you sit in a laid-back stance that lets you cruise for hours without fatigue.

Rear Seat Reality

The pillion seat on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is surprisingly comfortable for a cruiser. It is wider and better-cushioned than many bikes in this category, making longer rides easier for a passenger. Compared to the Shotgun 650 setup, the Super Meteor feels more pillion-friendly, especially when paired with the optional backrest on the Celestial variant.
