Pros

The authentic retro styling draws heavily from 1960s W-series models.
At just 135 kg, it is nimble and easy to handle, which builds confidence for beginner riders.
Its 177 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine has a smooth power delivery with minimal vibrations at 100 kmph.
It has a five-speed gearbox that operates with smooth click and an easy-to-find neutral position.
A soft suspension setup handles road undulations and broken patches comfortably.
It offers progressive braking capabilities which is assisted by single-channel ABS.

Cons

The price tag puts it close to larger-capacity bikes like the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin.
It misses out on modern equipment like LED lighting, tubeless tyres, alloy wheels and rear disc brake.
Low-end torque feels muted and needs you work the engine to get some lively output.
It lacks a tachometer, gear-position indicator, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The front disc brake does not have a sharp lever bite when stopping from higher speeds.

Verdict

The Kawasaki W175 is for those who need access to classic motorcycling. It offers light handling, neat retro styling, and a refined 177 cc engine. What also helps its case is the low weight and soft suspension, which makes it forgiving for beginners riding in traffic.

Seshan Vijayraghvan said in his review, “Yes, the price is a bit steep for a 177 cc motorcycle, but the W175 looks nice, comes with a very refined engine and has the potential to be a good beginner’s motorcycle.”

At the same time, the lack of modern features, absence of brighter lighting, and the modest low-end power output makes its asking price hard to justify. Especially when compared to similarly priced rivals such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin.
