The 2021 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, has been made lighter, losing 2 kg weight, and also gets marginally more power and torque than the 2020 model. The motorcycle has lost 2 kg over the 2020 model, with the disc brake variant weighing 147 kg, while the drum brake variant weighs 145 kg. Power on the 2021 model has increased by 1.5 bhp, while peak torque has increased by 0.6 Nm. With 17.4 bhp at 9,250 rpm, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is now the most powerful motorcycle in its class. The 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V is available in two variants - with drum brake and disc brake. The drum brake variant is now priced at Rs. 1,07,270 (Ex-showroom, Delhi), while the disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 1,10,320 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Apache 160 4V has become dearer by just over Rs. 3,000 over the 2020 model, and now gets a dual-tone finished seat. In December 2020, TVS Motor Company launched the export model TVS Apache RTR 160 4V with the SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity in Bangladesh, but the 2021 model launched in India still doesn't get Bluetooth connectivity.
The Apache RTR 160 4V continues to be powered by the same single-cylinder, four-valve, 159.7 cc, oil-cooled engine which now gets a slight bump in power. TVS Motor Company has yet to clarify if the state of tune on the engine has been changed, and how the increased power and torque is achieved. The engine now makes 17.4 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 14.73 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. The Apache RTR 160 4V continues to get a 5-speed gearbox, but now comes with a new dual-tone seat with carbon fibre pattern. The new Apache RTR 160 4V will be available in three colours, Racing Red, Knight Black and Metallic Blue.
