Pros Cons of TVS iQube

Pros

  • Its IP67-rated battery pack delivers a practical claimed range of 100 km (Economy mode) and 75 km (Power mode).
  • It does the 0-40 kmph run in just 4.2 seconds.
  • Cruising feels effortless and it reaches a maximum speed of 83 kmph in Power mode.
  • Its 12-inch wheels, telescopic front forks, and twin rear shocks give you a plush ride quality, without any rattling panel noises.
  • Braking performance feels reassuring due to the 220 mm front disc and adequately grippy tyres.
  • Build quality, fit, and finish are impressive when compared to other EVs.
  • Its screen links to SmartXonnect for navigation, geo-fencing, ride analytics and reverse park assist.

Cons

  • The 650 W portable charger, which takes 4.5 hours to charge from 0-80 percent, needs to be bought separately for about Rs. 10,000.
  • Long-distance touring capability is restricted by the current public fast-charging network.
  • It lacks optimum top-end punch, especially when trying to maintain highway speeds.

Verdict

The TVS iQube is truly a well-engineered electric scooter. The package combines conventional styling with excellent build quality and refined riding dynamics. In fact, even the real-world range mostly matches factory claims, and the balanced suspension setup handles rough roads exceedingly well.

Preetam Bora rightfully said in his review, “As far as moving to electric mobility is concerned, in the current scheme of things, the iQube certainly is one of the very best electric scooters available on sale right now, possibly even one of the top 5 electric scooters that you can choose.”

Sadly, the slow home-charging times and a separate exorbitant price tag for the charger are factors that dampen the buying proposition. However, if you want a reliable, comfortable, and well-engineered electric scooter, the iQube sits comfortably among the best.
