Verdict

The updated 2020 TVS Apache RR 310 gets a price tag of ₹ 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), a premium of ₹ 12,000 over the outgoing model. The RR 310 is now a significant step-up, with the ride-by-wire throttle, four riding modes, as well as full-colour instrument panel which certainly makes the RR 310 feel more premium than ever. It's actually quite a likeable and desirable motorcycle, as an all-rounder which can be fun to push around a racetrack as well!

How’s the Design?

The TVS Apache RR310 comes with a new colour option and the rest of the design stays largely the same. The dual tone colour option looks striking on the bike. The Titanium Black colour theme is quite attractive. The decals are also stylish and the inner fairing components come with gloss black paint.

How is the Performance?

The bike comes with a 312.2 cc engine that makes 34 PS and 27.3 Nm of maximum torque. The TVS Apache RR310 comes with Rain, Sport, Track, and Urban riding modes which come with varying systems, depending on the engine response and power output. The modes also depend on the ABS setup. The throttle responses feel flatter for the Urban and Rain modes while there is a drop in torque and power figures and the rev limiter is kept at 9,000 RPM. The Track and Sport modes do not limit torque and power with the rev limiter kept at 11,000 RPM. There could have been a riding mode positioned somewhere between the Sport and Urban ones. The engine works well in terms of its linear power delivery and there is good responsiveness, aided by the lower kerb weight as well. The vibrations are also lower this time around.

How does the TVS Apache RR310 Ride?

The TVS Apache RR310 has new Michelin Road 5 tyres which offer good grip on the road and track alike. The tyres improve overall performance while braking is also decent. The overall riding manners of the bike are decent.

How comfortable is the TVS Apache RR310?

The TVS Apache RR310 offers good comfort for taller riders and the seating position is also spot-on. The touring experience is comfortable over longer distances with a better rider triangle for lower discomfort and superior distribution of shoulder loads.

How’s the Tech?

The TVS Apache RR310 gets a new 5-inch TFT instrument console along with Bluetooth connectivity and several readouts. There is also navigation along with ride data. There are four layouts depending on the mode that is chosen, i.e. the Track, Urban, Rain, and Sport modes.

It is priced competitively and has great road presence and looks. The engine feels responsive and the bike is comfortable enough to ride as well. The overall experience is positive for buyers and that is where the TVS Apache RR310 shines. It should keep the sales charts chugging along for a long time to come as well. The bike also outstrips many of its bigger rivals in terms of its design and that is a major draw for buyers.
