“The Kia EV9 brings with it space, styling and a feature-packed electric experience to offer. Its price tag is no less than that of a traditional luxury badge, but to keep its commercial value strong, it gives buyers solid build quality, a hushed cabin and authentic full-size SUV capabilities.”
When the Kia EV9 touched Indian shores in 2024, it quickly stood out in a crowded field as one bold electric SUV. It stepped away from the usual crossover shapes and presented a proper three-row layout while keeping that massive profile intact. Till today, the vehicle has stayed relevant despite newer competition entering the EV market since its initial launch.
Riding on the dedicated E-GMP platform, the South Korean manufacturer's four-wheeler houses a large 99.8 kWh battery pack. It stands over five metres long and sits on 20-inch alloy wheels. Priced at Rs. 1.30 crore (ex-showroom), it is no doubt an expensive vehicle, but the asking value is justified with top-tier tech, a comfortable ride and beautiful, ergonomic road presence. If you're looking for an alternative to what German luxury brands typically have on offer, the EV9 stands out.

Verdict
The Kia EV9 is a bold statement. At Rs. 1.30 crore, it steps directly into the territory dominated by legacy luxury brands. It does not have the wafty air suspension you might expect for the money, but what it may lack in engineering precision, it easily makes up for in sheer space and usability.
The three-row cabin is genuinely practical, the electric drivetrain is muscular yet smooth, and the feature list leaves almost nothing to be desired. It is a highly capable family vehicle that also turns heads without relying on an oversized grille. Ultimately, if you value functional luxury, great ride refinement and seating for six, the EV9 is worth your attention.
