SUV नए डी7एक्स प्लैटफॉर्म पर बनी है जिसे डी7यू पर आधारित है जो रेन्ज-रोवर लाइन-अप में लगाया जाता है, लकिन ऑफ-रोड क्षमता में इज़ाफे के लिए इसमें बदलाव किए गए हैं. नए इंजीनियम इंजन के साथ ये और भी दमदार हो गई है, वहीं केबिन में कनेक्टिविटी ऐप और फीचर्स की भरमार है. ओरिजनल लैंड रोवर के मुकाबले नई SUV में दिए गए सभी फीचर्स की कोई तुलना नहीं की जा सकती. इन बदलावों के बाद SUV की कीमत बढ़ गई है जो अब प्रिमियम ग्राहकों के दायरे में आ चुकी है. फिलहाल भारतीय बाज़ार में डिफैंडर 110 का पांच दरवाज़ों वाला मॉडल बेचा जा रहा है. यह 5-मीटर से बड़े आकार की ये SUV काफी बड़ी दिखती है और 3 मीटर से ज़्यादा व्हीलबेस के साथ सड़क पर दमदार मौजूदगी दर्ज करती है. डिफैंडर 110 के साथ बिक्री के लिए जल्द डिफैंडर 90 भी पेश की जाएगी जो कम व्हीलबेस के साथ आएगी जो SUV का 3 दरवाज़ों वाला वेरिएंट होगा. इस लंबी कद-काठी वाली नई डिफैंडर में वाकई आपको चढ़ना पड़ता है जिसके बाद सड़क का नज़ारा ही कुछ और होता है. केबिन बहुत प्रिमियम अंदाज़ वाला है जिसमें आपको लकड़ी का काम दिखेगा, इसमें मैटल भी दिखाई पड़ेगा जिसमें स्क्रू कसे हुए दिखेंगे. समीर कॉन्ट्रैक्टर बता रहे हैं कार की ख़ूबियां और ख़ामियां.
