Hyundai India intends to increase its sales during the festive season with benefits of up to Rs. 50,000 on select models like the Santro, Aura, i20 and the Grand i10 Nios.

Mercedes-Benz India has announced nearly doubling its sales volume in the third quarter of the calendar year 2021. Between July and September 2021, the company sold 4101 units in India, achieving a 99 per cent growth compared to 2060 units sold during the same period in 2020.

In Mumbai, petrol is inching towards the 109-mark, currently priced at Rs. 108.96 a litre while diesel costs Rs. 99.17 a litre.

The Ministry says that these incentives and disincentives combined are aimed at encouraging the vehicle owners to discard their old and polluting vehicles having higher maintenance and fuel consumption costs.

The government will also stick firmly to its 2022 deadline for implementing tighter fuel efficiency norms also known as Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE), transport minister Nitin Gadkari said, which could push automakers to adopt cleaner fuels to meet the new target.
