Decoding Vital Rule changes that may impact F1 this year

Formula 1 has come up with a new set of changes containing technical regulations in 2022. It will have a car with fundamentally different sets than the ones that have run in the last few years. The main purpose of such regulation is to allow cars to follow others closely and try to know the simple design mechanism possible to cut the overall costs of manufacturing and maintaining the cars.

With the research of the new year, it is mainly to make the car racing sports equitable and try to make it sustainable to improve the spectacle. This is sure to include more cars category to include in the race, and it will be possible to include cars of various range, built and design of average costings. With its latest designs and details, the new cars and drivers are ready with a new style and cover
Some of the changes to note are listed in the following part of the article.
What are the design, stats, and speed of formula 1 cars?
The largest change made to the 2022 F1 cars is returning to ground-effect policies. These are some effects that have not got approval since formula 1. But its reintroduction in the recent time will surely be a loud one, with all the changes awaiting.

A change to 18-inch wheels
It is a change that has been planned for some time now, and it is a good shift from its traditional form of a 13-inch wheel that has been used for more than 30 years at a stretch. However, the cars will come with 18-inch wheels from the current year. Other than the obvious reason for the improved aesthetic of the bigger wheels, the car technologies would be suitable to cope with larger diameters and perfect for car racing.
Apart from this, sidewall reduction will resemble a road car. In addition, there is a changed behavior of tyres that indicates that the car needs to handle it differently when working with stiff sidewall than before. The testing used to depend mainly on positive feedback from the driver. But now, it includes tyre flex and how it impacts the aerodynamics of a car. It will boost stability, and it means less focus. In addition, one should take care of turbulence, and it would lower the overall costs.

The change in wheel diameter is sure to impact the lap time for good. Other than the wheel itself, the covers can return to those of 2009. It is mainly to reduce the aerodynamic pressure from the car, making it beneficial for those who are behind the car. It also reduces the downforce of the car. The physical seal of the wheel cover would prevent the team from going different ways through wheels.
In addition to this, the over-wheel winglets are new to come in this F1. It will help wake the air from coming to the front wheels and keep it away from the side of rear wing.
Details of car launch dates
As the pre-session testing of cars is scheduled for 23rd to 25th of February, the preparation should be made before that date. It should be done in a different and new way than what was done last year, and it would impact the preparation of each team taking part in it. The list of car launch dates as per car models are:
- Red Bull – 9th February 2022
- Ferrari – 17th February 2022
- Alpine – 21st February 2022
- Aston Martin – 10th February 2022
- Mercedes – 18th February 2022
- Mclaren – 11th February 2022
- Alpha Tauri – 14th February 2022
- Alfa Romeo – 27th February 2022
- Williams: TBC
- Haas: TBC – it is yet to give the date of finally revealing the new car
Safe and heavy cars in F1
The 2022 car chassis has gone through strict tests for checking its robustness and better energy absorption level. Even the front impact test will increase, and it will help in the absorption of energy than the previous version of the car. It would also increase the impact test of rear by 15%.
Following the car crash during the 2020 race, the power unit will now separate from the chassis part without affecting the fuel tank in case of a car crash and others. The changes would help one understand the track changes that would be implemented for the current year's racing game. The design, speed, and other features will impact the new cars that are ready to go for this year's race.
