Ford Endeavour: Top 5 Rivals

- The Ford Endeavour is one of the most potent 4WD SUVs in India.
- It gets a 2.0-litre engine mated to 10-speed automatic gearbox.
- It is quite well loaded when it comes to creature comforts.
The Ford Endeavour is one of the oldest nameplates in India that started the full-size seven-seater SUV segment. Over generations the Endeavour has undergone a complete transformation. It's one of the most potent four-wheel-drive (4WD) SUVs in India and is offered with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox as standard and is quite well loaded in the creature comforts department. The Endeavour is currently priced at Rs. 33.80 lakh to Rs. 36.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Here are the top five rivals.
Toyota Fortuner

The Toyota Fortuner gets both petrol and diesel powertrains - a 2.7-litre motor and a 2.8-litre oil burner respectively.
The Toyota Fortuner is the bestselling model in the full-size seven-seater SUV space, and it has been the best-selling model in this segment for a while now, doing an average of 2000 units a month. Earlier this year, the SUV received a mid-life facelift in India and saw the introduction of a new special variant as well, the Fortuner Legender. The SUV gets both petrol and diesel powertrains - a 2.7-litre motor and a 2.8-litre oil burner respectively. Transmission options will include a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) and a 6-speed automatic torque converter unit. The Fortuner is priced from Rs. 30.34 lakh to Rs. 38.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and here are 5 models the rival the SUV.
MG Gloster

The MG Gloster comes with a choice of two diesel engines - a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel.
The MG Gloster is the biggest of the lot and possibly the most features rich as well. In fact, it's the only vehicle in this segment to get an Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS), 64 colours advanced ambient light system and a fully connected car system. The MG Gloster comes with a choice of two diesel engines - a 2.0-litre turbo diesel and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel, both mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The Gloster range starts from Rs. 29.98 lakh, going up to Rs. 36.88 lakh.
Mahindra Alturas G4

The Mahindra only comes with a diesel engine on offer, a 2.2-litre engine mated to a 7-speed automatic torque converter as standard.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 is the company's flagship SUV and ticks all the right boxes for anyone looking for a full-size 7-seater SUV. In terms of features, it's at par with the Fortuner, however, it only comes with a diesel engine on offer, a 2.2-litre engine mated to a 7-speed automatic torque converter as standard. It's priced at Rs. 28.77 lakh to Rs. 31.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Isuzu MU-X

The Isuzu MU-X now gets a new 1.9-litre diesel engine that is paired with a 6-speed automatic as standard.
The 2021 Isuzu MU-X was launched in India earlier this year, however, India still gets the old-gen model, while the newer version is already on sale in global markets. The SUV now gets a new 1.9-litre diesel engine that is paired with a 6-speed automatic as standard. It's priced at Rs. 33.23 lakh to Rs. 35.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Kia Carnival

The Kia Carnival MPV comes powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre VGT diesel engine paired with 8-speed Sportmatic transmission.
The Kia Carnival is a seven-seater MPV, but its size, pricing and features, certainly make it a good alternative to these seven-seater SUVs. It is a good alternative if a larger, premium family vehicle is what you need, but not an SUV necessarily. In fact, the Carnival offers 8 and 9-seater options as well. The Kia Carnival MPV comes powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre VGT diesel engine paired with 8-speed Sportmatic transmission. Prices start from Rs. 24.95 lakh going up to Rs. 33.95 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India).
