State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd's (EESL) procurement of electric cars from Mahindra Electric and Tata Motors was seen as a big push towards electric mobility in India. The cars sourced were to be used by government officials in place of conventional vehicles. However, the move seems to have not gone down well with senior government officials, who have refused to use electric cars for daily use. According to a report in Live Mint, a government source who didn't wish to be named said that the senior officials have cited poor performance and low range of the electric vehicles, as one of the reasons to refuse using the electric cars.
Audi will now unveil the e-tron Electric SUV in the US instead of at the Audi Summit in Brussels due to the arrest of CEO Rupert Stadler in the VW diesel emissions scandal.
In the wake of Audi CEORupert Stadler's arrest a few days ago over the 'Dieselgate' Scandal, the German luxury automaker that was due to hold its annual 'Audi Summit' in August 2018 has postponed the annual event. The 2018 Audi Summit was also where the brand new all-electric Audi e-Tron SUV was supposed to make its official (and long awaited) global debut. Incidentally, the Audi e-Tron SUV will also be the first all-electric production car from the German luxury automaker and Audi has already received thousands of pre-bookings for the SUV even before an official debut.In a communiqu sent by the automaker, an Audi spokesperson said, "Today, we decided to cancel the Audi Summit on August 30 and 31, 2018, in Brussels due to organizational reasons. The Summit will take place on a later occasion in the United States."
While the Tesla electric cars are known for some very interesting features and performance figures, its CEO Elon Musk has now hinted that the upcoming Tesla Semi Truck will also come with what is called the "Mad Max" mode. Fortunately, the Semi truck won't be participating in a post-apocalyptic adventure with the Mad Max mode, but it will be a feature for the autopilot system. In a series of tweets recently, the entrepreneur revealed an image with the autopilot system and the Mad Max mode being one of the options.
