Britain's auto industry, seeking to swerve Brexit obstacles, is accelerating toward electrification as consumers shun high-polluting diesels, driven by rapid advances in technology and greener government policy. Four famous car brands born in Britain but now foreign-owned -- German-held Bentley and Mini, Indian-backed Jaguar Land Rover, and Chinese-controlled Lotus -- have each this month outlined plans for purely electric models to sit alongside their petrol vehicles.

    MG eZS Electric SUV Prices Announced For The UK; India Launch In 2019
    MG Motor UK has announced the pricing and availability on the ZS Electric SUV that goes on sale in September this year. The MG ZS EV, as it will be called in the UK, is priced from 21,495 Pounds, going up to 23,495 Pounds (around Rs. 18.36-20.07 lakh), after the 3500 Pound government grant and the company's initial discount. It will be the brand's first electric vehicle in the UK. The new electric offering is a five-seater SUV based on the standard ICE versions and offers a full-sized boot in its EV guise making it a practical offering. The MG eZS, as it will be badged in India, has been confirmed as the automaker's next offering after the Hector and is scheduled for a commercial launch in December 2019. The eZS will lock horns against the recently launched Hyundai Kona Electric.
