The Mercedes-Benz E-Class which recently got a BS6 engine along with some feature updates continues to dominate sales in the company's line-up and is further joined by the GLC and GLS SUVs.

One of the country's popular C-segment sedans, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, has completed 5 years in the Indian market, with over 2.7 lakh units sold so far.

The production has been ramped up expecting better sales during the festive season while Maruti Suzuki has also slashed prices of select models along with offering attractive discounts.

TVS Motor Company recorded a significant slump in sales for the month of September 2019. The company sold a total of 315,912 units as against 423,939 units in September 2018, registering a negative growth of 25.48 per cent.

Hyundai Motor India reported a sales decline of 14.8 per cent in September 2019 in domestic volumes. The Korean auto giant sold 40,705 units last month, as opposed to 47,781 units sold during the same month last year. The volumes remain underwhelming for the automaker that has been reporting a de-growth since the beginning of the year. However, the manufacturer's witness sales recovered month-on-month in September, when compared to the 16.58 per cent decline registered in August 2019.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) sales volumes continue to dip in September 2019, going below the 5 lakh mark.

The company said that in September 2019, its retail was 31 per cent more than offtake as a result dealer stock came down by around 10 per cent.
