MG Motor India sold 3,558 units in June 2021, which is a 250 per cent growth from 1,016 units sold in May 2021. MG said that the phased unlocking helped it get increased enquiries and bookings.

Bajaj Auto posted total sales of 310,578 two-wheelers (domestic+exports) in June 2021, which is a growth of 22 per cent over June 2020. The company registered sales of 155,640 two-wheelers in the domestic market in June 2021.

Volkswagen Passenger Cars India is aiming to nearly double its used case sales this year. Lamborghini has sold 26 units in India in the last financial year (FY2021) which is a growth of 100 per cent when compared to 13 units sold in FY2020.

The extraordinary growth in sales is primarily attributed to a low base last year. Lockdown was imposed even this year in some of the key states of India but it was a partial lockdown and sales were happening to an extent in areas and states where there were no such restrictions.

Home-grown automaker Tata Motors has announced rolling out the 2,00,000th Nexon subcompact SUV from its Ranjangaon facility, near Pune, Maharashtra. The company claims that it was able to achieve this production milestone while adhering to Covid 19 safety protocols and hygiene norms.
