The company will launch four new scooters this year - Dash, Dare, ZIR and Leap - all of which were showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo.

The scooter this time will not be a yet another derivative of the Activa, but an all new 125cc scooter named the 'Lead' that is already on sale in markets like Vietnam and Japan.

First showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, Hero Motorcorp's new 110cc scooter - the Dash - will be launched by mid 2015. In fact, according to a report published in Autocar Professional, the company has begun the production of the vehicle at its Gurgaon-based plant.

Though BMW Motorrad is yet to enter India officially, the report claims the company is looking at locally assembling the bikes (starting with BMW F700 and F800 GS) at its Chennai plant.

Mahindra Two-Wheelers Ltd. (MTWL) has partnered exclusively with Paytm to enable people to buy its vehicles online. Under this new partnership, the company will e-retail its Centuro motorcycles and Rodeo UZO range of scooters on the Paytm marketplace.

Word has it that the motorcycle manufacturer has re-registerd the 'Chetak' brand name as it prepares to re-enter the Indian scooter market.
