The 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 brings modern upgrades while retaining its classic charm. With the addition of the new J-series engine and updated chassis, the Bullet 350 stays true to its heritage while incorporating necessary refinements. Prices for the 2023 model range from ₹1.74 lakh to ₹2.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bullet 350 remains a timeless classic that holds immense cultural significance in India and continues to appeal to generations of riders.

The 2023 Bullet 350 retains its iconic silhouette, featuring signature elements like the hand-painted pinstripes and classic badging. It is available in five color options across three variants, including the eye-catching Standard Maroon and Black Gold for the top variant. Ergonomically, the Bullet offers an upright riding position with a single-piece ribbed seat and taller handlebars, making it comfortable for long rides.

2023 Bultet 350 Design

The overall design is nostalgic yet functional, with minor updates to improve aesthetics, such as the cleaner fuel tank and improved fit and finish. However, there are areas where the build quality could have been better, such as exposed electrical wires and frame welds

The heart of the new Bullet 350 is the 349 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled J-series engine, which produces 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine, shared with the Classic 350 and Meteor 350, offers smoother and more refined performance compared to the older pushrod architecture. The long-stroke character of the engine is retained, providing the iconic thump and low-end torque that Royal Enfield fans love.

2023 Bultet 350 Ergonomics

The Bullet 350 is not built for speed but excels in relaxed riding. Its ideal cruising speed ranges between 85-95 km/h, and while it can reach a top speed of 115 km/h, the bike feels most comfortable at lower speeds, providing a calm and unhurried riding experience

The 2023 Bullet 350 offers an improved riding experience, thanks to its dual-cradle frame and updated suspension.

Bullet 350 Instrument Console

The ride quality is plush, soaking up bumps and rough road surfaces with ease. Whether on city roads or rougher terrain, the Bullet remains planted and stable. It’s not a sporty bike, but its handling has been significantly refined, making it easier to maneuver while maintaining the relaxed, laid-back fee

With a seat height of 805 mm and an optional lower seat height of 785 mm, the Bullet 350 is accessible for riders of various heights. The wide and comfortable seat ensures long-distance comfort, and the bike’s 195 kg kerb weight feels manageable.

Bullet 350 Comfort

The suspension and frame enhancements contribute to a smooth and steady ride, offering comfort even over longer journeys

Pros

  • Timeless design with iconic features like hand-painted pinstripes and classic badging
  • Refined 349 cc J-series engine with 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque, offering a smooth and relaxed riding experience
  • Improved ride quality and dynamics with a dual-cradle chassis and plush suspension

Cons

  • Limited top-end performance, with a sweet spot between 85-95 kmph and a maximum speed of 115 kmph
  • Fit and finish, including visible electrical wires and welds, could be improved for a cleaner look
  • Minimal updates to the instrument console, lacking features like gear position indicator or distance-to-empty readings

Verdict

The 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 retains its classic charm while receiving much-needed updates in terms of engine refinement and ride quality. It remains a motorcycle designed for relaxed, easygoing rides, with its signature thump and solid road presence. Although it could benefit from better top-end performance and a few additional modern features, the Bullet 350 still excels at what it has always done best—offering a timeless, nostalgic riding experience. For riders looking to slow down and enjoy the journey, this new Bullet 350 is an ideal choice.

I am riding bullet electra since 2014. It has got reliability issues but it’s because of poor service of RE. Like all other brands they are just into money making and i also doubt about the knowledge and skills of their mechanics. The best solution is to look out for bullet specialists (yes these guys exist) in your neighbourhood. These guys are literally doctors of bullet. And if u ask them , they will also teach you basic troubleshooting and repair for your bull. I did my first servicing at authorised service centre and then i never visited them. Its not that i had bad experience but i got gut feeling that these guys are simply not competent to repair a bullet. Its also because they have loads and loads of customers. So obviously the quality of service goes down. So i took advice from few elders who own a old bullet and i got a very good doctor for my bull. So my advice to those who are hating RE or their bike is to find a very good bullet specialist. Next important thing is your riding style. I owned a unicorn before but the bullet is totally different from these refined and quick 150-250 cc bikes. In the beginning i missed the quickness of unicorn. I tried it with bullet but it cost me oil leak from the engine. I learned that bullet is not designed for that purpose. Bullet is popularly known as “raja gadi” The kings ride. And yes it is. Don’t buy a bullet if you are always in a hurry. My daily commute is max 25 km and hence never in a hurry. When i go touring my max speed is between 75-80. Some guys might laugh. But comeon guys. Its touring. Destination is not important. The journey is. Or to be specific “enjoying the journey “. The ride is very comfortable both on highways and offroads. The sitting position is the best. No bike offers such comfortable upright position. Overall i would like to end my review by saying that bullet is for those who enjoy the journey rather than those who are in a hurry to reach destination. Plastic bikes come and go. I have never seen anyone still caring for or proudly displaying their 1st pulsar or the 1st unicorn. But i have seen guys proudly displaying their “1978 bullet” or the “1980bullet” etc. etc. etc. so bullet is not just a bike. Its cult. Its a legacy.

i bought the bike on may 8 2019. from the first week itself the problems started. bike is turn off ( missing problem) while driving. i escaped from an accident from god sake. due to right side pulling my hand getting paining. i approached 13 times to service centre. but it never solved till. today is the 4th month since i purchased the bike. i used it only for 1 month. other times it is in the service centre. they arwe telling that right side pulling is a common charecteristics of bullet. till date i changed skull, silencer pipe, relay, bulb, fork, handle etc in warranty. this clearly showing how much quality the royal enfield's products have. when i asked them for my vehicle service history they told that it cannot be given. they will not give the details of the parts they replaced.it is the terms and conditions of the royal enfield. the one thing i want to ask to the company is that why you are hiding these information from the owner itself. i think the consumer cannot complaint against this company ,we dont have much evidence. if the history include all the thing they replaced we can easy prove about the quality of the bike in court. that may be they are hiding such details. if you are genuine and have trust in your product you will never hide things like this. i shame on myself as an owner of a bullet.

A fine bike and if driven properly satisfies all needs of an adventurous rider. My bike now 20 months old gives me 40kmpl and after 10000km it is giving 45kmpl. On power front if correct gears are chosen at right times, there is no dearth of power . On pick up front it zooms to 80kmph in just below 12 s by careful shifting of gears. Riding BULLET after almost 30 yrs and the new Electra is no comparison.

  • What's New?

One of India’s most iconic motorcycles, the Royal Enfield Bullet, has undergone a thorough makeover in 2023. Royal Enfield has launched the newest iteration of the motorcycle, carrying a starting price of Rs 1.74 lakh. There are five colours on option – the range starts with the Military Red and Black options (Rs 1.74 lakh), rising to Rs 1.97 lakh for the Standard Maroon and Black options, and tops out with the Black Gold, priced at Rs 2.16 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Sales and test rides of the new Bullet will begin in India on September 3. The brand plans to launch the bike in the UK by the next quarter, and will also subsequently roll it out in Asia-Pacific and American markets.

The motorcycle is now built around Royal Enfield’s modern J-platform featuring the brand’s latest chassis and 350cc powertrain that was first introduced in the Meteor 350, followed by the Classic and the Hunter 350. While the underpinnings are all-new, the design of the Bullet 350 remains largely the same, maintaining the classic elements that are appreciated by motorcyclists worldwide. The motorcycle continues to feature pinstriping on the fuel tank and side panels as it did when it was first introduced. The bike retains the old-style badging on either side of the fuel tank, the ribbed saddle and the Amp meter as a part of the instrumentation.

The new Bullet 350, at 195 kg, is about four kilogrammes heavier than the electric-start version of the outgoing model. Ground clearance is rated at 170 mm, while seat height is 805 mm. Fuel tank capacity is pegged at 13 litres.

Powering the Bullet 350 is the J-series powertrain that displaces 349cc, is a single-pot, SOHC unit that is capable of producing 20.2 bhp of max power at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The mill has earned itself the reputation of delivering smooth, efficient and torquey performance while retaining the character of the previous engines manufactured by the company.

Coming to the cycle parts, the new Bullet 350 now built around a double-cradle chassis, is suspended by a 41mm telescopic fork setup at the front and a twin-shock absorber setup at the rear. As all Bullets that have rolled out of the factory, this one too continues to ride on wire-spoke wheels (19-inch front, 18-inch rear) with a 100/90-section front tyre and 120/80-section rear tyre.

There's a disc-drum setup for braking (with single-channel ABS) on the entry-level Military Red and Black. The Standard Maroon and Black variants, as well as the top-spec Black Gold get disc brakes at both ends (300mm front; 270 mm rear) and are equipped with dual-channel ABS.

Bookings for the new Bullet 350 have commenced and the motorcycle will be available across all authorised dealerships in India shortly. On the competition front, the Bullet 350 doesn’t have any direct competitor in its class apart from its own 350 siblings within the Royal Enfield family. On the displacement front, however, the motorcycle rivals the Honda H'ness CB350 and the Yezdi Roadster.
