car&bike Expert Take
“The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is best suited to riders who value heritage, steady torque delivery and long-distance comfort over outright speed or modern electronics. It is not built for performance-focused riders or those seeking advanced technology features. Its standout strength remains its solid metal build, relaxed highway composure and the unmistakable character of the J-series engine.” – Preetam Bora

Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Overview
Launched on September 1, 2023, as the final model in Royal Enfield’s 350 cc portfolio to move to the new J-platform, the latest Bullet 350 introduces its fourth-generation engine to the Indian market. It retains the familiar teardrop silhouette that has defined Indian motorcycling for generations. But don't let the old-school looks fool you; this is the modern J-series. These are the same bones we’ve praised in the Classic and Meteor. As Preetam Bora notes, “The bullet name is synonymous with the Royal Enfield brand itself in India... a model which is as much a part of culture and tradition, winning the hearts of generations of bullet lovers.”
For us, this shift means we finally get a chassis that doesn't feel like it’s fighting the engine. We also noticed a massive leap in how planted the bike feels. Whether we're weaving through morning traffic or settling into a 90 kilometres per hour cruise, the bike stays composed.
Watch: 2023 ROYAL ENFIELD BULLET 350 REVIEW: TIMELESS CLASSIC!
This review is based on the riding experience of Preetam Bora, Senior Two-Wheeler Journalist at car&bike. With over 20 Years of motorcycle testing experience, Preetam has evaluated everything from commuter bikes to multi-cylinder touring machines across Indian and international markets. Over the course of his career, he has logged well over 3,00,000 kilometres on varied road conditions.
For this evaluation, the motorcycle was ridden across city traffic, open highways, and uneven urban stretches to understand how it behaves in real-world conditions. The test included solo riding as well as short pillion runs to assess balance and comfort. The observations shared here focus on everyday usability, long-distance comfort, and practical ownership behaviour rather than just specification figures.
Pros
- Timeless Bullet design and presence
- Smooth, refined riding experience
- Comfortable for daily and long rides
- Strong build quality and durability
Cons
- Not designed for sporty riding
- Base variant lacks dual-channel ABS
- Premium pricing for top variant
- Limited modern tech features
Verdict
For us, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 remains one of the most honest motorcycles on sale today. If you want a machine that rewards you for slowing down, this icon still makes sense. As Preetam summarises, “Overall, the bullet has improved so much... it will still appeal to you if you're a bullet fan. So go ahead, take a test ride—this could be just the best bullet ever to be made.”
Best as:
- Daily commuter for mature riders.
- Relaxed weekend tourer
- Long-term heirloom purchase with high resale value.
Not ideal as:
- Primary high-speed touring vehicle
- Tech-heavy purchase for gadget enthusiasts.
- Fuel-cost sensitive commuter

- Selling for lots of reasons2.0Black Gold(Petrol)It feels so outdated now, no matter how much I spend on repairs and upgrades. The issues just keep piling up. I’m honestly fed up and have decided to sell it. Once, the engine even caught fire, which was terrifying. On top of that, there’s this constant chain noise that never goes away, and the clunky gear change sound is really frustrating. Driving it in the city has become such a hassle, it just makes the experience worse.By Vartak SahuPosted on: Nov 25, 2024 05:12 PM00
- This is for only sound3.0Black Gold(Petrol)Finally the wire sound of bullet is over, I am not that person who likes the firing or loud engine sound, was riding bcouse my uncle gave me to learn bike riding, back that time i dont have any choice but sound was loved so many but i have seen most didnt liked. This bike is not for every one to handle but i have never seen the handing and long drive comfortableBy Maneesh JhaPosted on: Nov 22, 2024 12:21 PM10
- l like the old version3.0Black Gold(Petrol)you need to understand that any bike will give you the best if you will take care and maintain after running kilometer, i take care my bike like baby but i have seen the latest 350 is not matching the old witch my dad has. overall my experiance is nice but i really paricate if makers will rework on the build quality line 20 years back.By Prathmesh KaulPosted on: Nov 22, 2024 12:04 PM00
- Bullet never looses its shine in any way4.0Military Red(Petrol)its my 6th bike and after classic 350 of 1999 and pulsar 240 Suzuki Gixxer, honda Unicorn and Hornet the latest royal enfield 350 is the all time favorite, seating posture is upright and comfortable, perfect for long rides. The cushioned seat and wide handlebars reduce fatigue, even during extended journeys. While the design retains its timeless appeal, the updated Bullet 350 adds subtle enhancements, such as a semi-digital console and improved fit and finish, making it more user-friendly. defently my 7th bike would be bullet for sure.By Awanish KumarPosted on: Nov 22, 2024 11:47 AM00
- Classic Look with Modern Features4.0Standard Black(Petrol)The Bullet 350 gives you that classic cruiser feel but with modern upgrades. The disc brakes and alloy wheels add great control, and the torque is excellent for long rides. I also love the variety of colour options! This bike delivers on performance and looks. The engine power and torque make it perfect for long-distance touring, while the paint scheme and graphics give it a classic Royal Enfield feel. Maintenance cost is reasonable for the performance you get.By Jiten KalpeshPosted on: Oct 03, 2024 01:12 PM00
