TVS Ntorq 150 Expert Reviews

car&bike Expert Take

“Instead of just adding a larger piston into the Ntorq 125, TVS gave the 150 a massive technical overhaul. It arrived with a heavily revised 149.7cc engine and an advanced traction control system. It also got some segment-first aerodynamic winglets.”

The 2026 TVS Ntorq 150 sits in the premium scooter market as a direct answer to the growing 150 cc-160 cc segment. TVS heavily targets younger buyers and riding enthusiasts with this scooter, those who desire the convenience of a gearless scooter but refuse to compromise on acceleration.

Weighing just 115 kg, it feels incredibly light on its feet compared to its main rival, the Yamaha Aerox 155. While the underseat storage remains a bit shallow, the Ntorq 150 delivers proper hyper-sport performance without compromising the comfortable, everyday practicality that made the original 125cc model so popular.

A road test review of the Ntorq’s punchier sibling was done by Preetam Bora. He says,

“The TVS NTorq 150 takes the brand’s proven formula and dials it up with a larger, more performance-focused heart, while retaining the instantly recognisable NTorq silhouette.”

TVS engineers completely reworked the NTorq 150’s powertrain to handle the extra displacement.

Engine TypeMax PowerMax TorqueTransmissionDrivetrain
149.7 cc, 3-Valve, O3C Tech13 bhp @ 7,000 rpm14.2 Nm @ 5,500 rpmCVT AutomaticRear-Wheel Drive

Key Takeaways

  • The 149.7cc engine produces very healthy output figures, ideal for city riding.
  • The top speed maxes out at a claimed 104 kmph.
  • It goes from zero to 60 kmph in just 6.3 seconds.

City Riding Experience

  • TVS offers two riding modes: Street and Race.
  • For daily commuting, Street mode is preferred.
  • It softens the throttle response slightly and activates the intelligent start-stop system.
  • The system shuts the engine off at red lights to save fuel.
  • When you twist the grip, the scooter fires back up instantly without any delay.

Highway Riding Experience

  • In Race mode, the Ntorq 150 holds 80 to 85 kmph all day long.
  • When you need to overtake a slower vehicle at 70 kmph, the iGo Assist system kicks in.
  • It gives you the immediate punch needed to complete the pass safely.

The design team took the familiar, stealth-aircraft-inspired styling of the older Ntorq and made it look sharper and wider.

Key Takeaways

  • The Ntorq is significantly lighter than the Yamaha Aerox.
  • The 770 mm seat height keeps the scooter highly accessible for most riders.
  • A ground clearance of 155 mm clears standard city speed breakers comfortably.

Build Quality & Materials

Fit and finish are commendable. The body panels fit tightly, and the paint quality feels rich and durable. TVS gave the scooter a robust tubular frame that handles bad roads without sending harsh rattles through the floorboard. Meanwhile, the switchgear on the handlebars has a solid, tactile click to it.

Preetam notes,

“In all, the NTorq 150 is stylish, sharp and makes quite a statement on the street.”

TVS offers the scooter in four striking finishes across two variants.

Pros

  • The incredibly agile body
  • Traction control
  • The full-colour TFT display
  • The iGO Assist boost function
  • The Rs. 1.11 Lakh starting price

Cons

  • The stiff suspension setup
  • The 12-inch wheels have less high-speed stability
  • The 22-litre underseat storage
  • Fuel efficiency drops in Race mode
  • Polarising design for older scooter riders

Verdict

TVS did not just give a bigger engine on the Ntorq 150; they coupled in some genuine performance and safety upgrades like aerodynamic winglets and traction control. While it could have done more with the liquid cooling and 14-inch wheels of the Yamaha Aerox 155, it compensates by being significantly lighter, offering a flat floorboard, and carrying a price tag that is incredibly hard to argue against.  But at the same time, it is not a relaxed, comfortable family scooter. It is loud, stiff, and demands aggressive riding.

Preetam summarises the Ntorq 150,

“On paper, the TVS NTorq 150 may seem like a more aggressive and performance-focused evolution of its 125 cc sibling, but its true strength lies in its balance. It looks the part, handles with reassuring predictability, and, more importantly, proves to be a genuinely practical and approachable 150 cc scooter. Performance is friendly rather than intimidating, making it just as suitable for first-time riders as it is for those upgrading.”
