4 years agoThe 2020 Volkswagen Vento automatic was introduced this year with a new 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine, along with a new 6-speed automatic torque converter that replaces, the older DSG automatic transmission. Visually the car remains identical to the regular Vento sedan with the honeycomb grille and dual-beam LED headlamps, alloys and smoked taillamps. The engine is the same unit that powers the regular manual version, and the output too remains unchanged at 108 bhp and 175 Nm of peak torque. In addition to a strong build, and excellent driving mannerisms, the new automatic transmission makes the car quick, responsive and fun-to-drive. With the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos owning the segment, Nissan had to up its game with the Kicks, in order to compete with the bigwigs. And it did, sort of, by putting the 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine under the hood (the same unit that the Renault Duster gets). This particular engine is the most powerful turbo petrol motor in the segment. It displaces 1,330 cc and makes 154 bhp at 5,500 rpm along with peak torque of 254 Nm from a very low 1,600 rpm. Our test car had a 7-step CVT gearbox. What is interesting is that the 1.3 turbo engine borrows the cylinder coating technology from the famed Nissan GT-R or the Godzilla, meaning there is a bit of the GT-R in the Kicks and that's a good thing, obviously! It's been a long time coming and the lockdown delayed the arrival just a wee bit more. But what better time than the festive season to launch a car that promises to do wonders for the brand in the market. It is Audi's 5th launch this year in India and definitely the most significant. It is also Audi's smallest and most affordable SUV yet and that sounds like a perfect recipe for success in a market like ours. In all there 5 trims on offer. While the base variant standard, premium and premium plus I are a part of the advanced line, the 2 most expensive trims, Premium plus II and Technology you see here are Design line trims. It is just about 4.2 meters long and 1.5 meters tall which means it's shorter on both fronts than most compact SUVs sold in the market. However, at 1.8 meters the Q2 is quite wide and that gives it its imposing stance. Inside the car gets a virtual cockpit with day/night mode and Audi Multimedia interface that comes with Navigation plus. It also gets Android Auto and Apple car play connectivity. The cabin also gets a leather wrapped flat-bottom steering, wireless charger, a 10 speaker 180 watt sound system and a sunroof.
