The new car is quite simply better than the previous one in every respect – dynamic performance, design, luxury, comfort and technology. We have tested a variety of variants, and in this video show you our first look at the one that will lead the charge in India when the car is launched here – the 530d. The test car has xDrive (all-wheel-drive) though which the Indian variants will definitely not have. But the new diesel engine is a hoot, and the car handles supremely well too. The car has multiple diesel and petrol engine options, and will also sport a plug-in hybrid variant. In India we can expect a locally assembled car with one diesel and one petrol engine on offer, both mated to an auto gearbox. It is over 5 metres long, has 3 rows of seats, multiple engine and transmission options. The Atlas has been primarily designed or the US market, but will also head to China. We’ve always liked the suave look of the CLA especially when compared to its rivals – the Audi A3 and the soon to be launched BMW 1 Series sedan, and yet Mercedes-Benz thought that it needed to add some more punch. The CLA now gets an updated set of headlamps that are full-LED and the daytime running light pattern too gets a minor update and looks a tad bit better than its predecessor.
