Girish is a veteran automotive journalist with over 25 years in this field. Born and brought up in Mumbai, his passion for automobiles started as a child when he started collecting toy cars of all shapes and sizes. A lucky break thanks to his ability to write a decent copy and a love for sports, got this science graduate a chance to become a journalist with Indian Express. But the love for automobiles spurred him to embrace automotive journalism. Luckily for him, the Indian automotive industry also bloomed around the same time. Over the years he has worked for major automotive publications such as Autocar India, BBC TopGear India and Times Auto before taking over as Editor-in-Chief of carandbike.com in February 2023. Girish has also been a jury member on multiple occasions at World Car of the Year and Indian Car of the Year.
