Pros Cons of Audi S5

Pros

  • Based on the MLB platform, the A5 is sturdily built
  • The A5 is only available with the sporty variants
  • The RS5 is quite the looker

  • The S5 looks simple and very understated
  • The gearbox could have been more responsive

Verdict

It is a niche model, and also given that it will be a direct import - so that price is more attractive than you think. But with BMW assembling the M340i locally, an over 10 lakh price difference between the two in favour of the Bimmer.  But it is good to see Audi getting us many brand shaping and relevant models. And especially a car like the S5 - which arrives at a time when many premium brands are once again showing some love to the sedan space.

Pros Cons of Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Pros

  • Be it lazy commutes or aggressive power output, this luxury sedan satisfies all requirements.
  • The steering gives you precise, immediate feedback, and makes sudden direction changes engaging.
  • Mercedes’ "Digital Light" headlight technology adapts to weather, oncoming traffic, and road conditions.
  • This premium cabin gets a flat-bottom steering, brushed metal accents, and a massive touchscreen.
  • New USB package features six 100W fast-charging Type-C ports scattered across the interior.

Cons

  • Riding on 18-inch AMG alloy wheels means you will feel sharp bumps, road creases, and potholes.
  • In an otherwise well-insulated luxury cabin, the ventilated seat’s whirring noise gets annoying.
  • The 48V mild-hybrid tech does a great job of making stop-and-go driving progressive and smooth. 
  • The C-Class sits low to the ground which means getting in and out requires some bending.
  • The nine-speed gearbox can sometimes perform a jerky downshift when you're braking hard.

Verdict

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a reminder of what a luxury sedan ought to be. The C300 especially, is a highly emotional, high-revving petrol motor that Mercedes has crafted to be an absolute hoot to drive. It is a car that looks incredibly handsome on the outside, pampers you with cutting-edge tech on the inside, and puts a massive grin on your face the second you find an open stretch of tarmac.

“If you are looking for a premium luxury sedan which is involving to drive, brings a smile to your face every time you grab the wheel, and feels like a million bucks, there are very few options out there.”

If you are an owner who loves to grab the steering wheel yourself, craves instant mechanical grip, and wants a car that feels like a multi-million-dollar baby S-Class from the driver's seat, the C300 is hands-down the one to have.
